Season Two, Three More Episodes

Tonight I watched The Usual Suspects, Crossroad Blues and Crotoan. Loved them all.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS - I was delighted to see Linda Blair although I don't think she's aged very well. Loved Dean's line, "I could really go for some pea soup now," obviously an homage to Linda's film The Exorcist. In fact, this episode was loaded with references: REDRUM (murder) from Stephen King's The Shining, Scully & Mulder and red-headed woman (The X-Files,) Jim Rockford (The Rockford Files,) Ponch from CHIPS and Matlock, just to name a few. I cracked up over the funny noises Dean was making when Sam was on the computer and I noticed something during the extreme closeups in this episode: Jared and Jensen both have gray eyes, the first truly gray eyes I think I've ever seen. I always thought before they both had brown eyes. Jared sure is hard on that cast on his arm. I wonder how many times it had to be replaced.

CROSSROAD BLUES - Another Star Wars reference: Princess Lela's golden bikini. Dean thinking MySpace was a porn site. LOL I was thinking, Don't do it, Dean! Don't do it! when he was tricking the demon. If I didn't know about some things in later seasons, I might have thought he would make a deal with the devil to bring John back. He sure looked tempted. Jared and Jensen (especially) handle guns so much in this show that they must be pretty comfortable with them. Since they live in Texas, where gun ownership is practically a given, I wonder if they own guns and ever go hunting. Anyone know?

CROATOAN - This was a pretty creepy episode, just watching and waiting for people to turn. It was amusing the way Dean and the ex-Marine were holding guns on each other, even inside the Impala. Gosh, it was so tense when Sam got the tainted blood smeared into the cut the demon made. And it was heart wrenching when Dean wouldn't leave him. Any thoughts on why Sam was immune to the virus? Loved the line about going to Hollywood and banging Lindsay Lohan. LOL The writers really come up with some great lines. I liked that the premise for this episode was based on how everyone disappeared in the real Lost Colony on Roanoke Island in the Sixteenth Century.

Watching Supernatural has become the highlight of my evenings and everything else that isn't getting done be damned. I am soooo hooked on this show. Is is consistently excellent.
