SPN Season 2, First 4 Episodes

Jul 27, 2015 01:20

I've started on season two of Supernatural and now have the first four episodes under my belt.

IN MY TIME OF DYING - I watched this several days ago, but watched it again tonight with the commentary. It's such fun to listen to the boys (and the director Kim Manners) talk about how scenes were done and all the ups and downs of filming. The ouija board scene was very complicated to film and Dean mentioned how difficult it was to play a part where no one sees or acknowledges his presence. Dean said we don't find out what John whispered to him at the end until season 10. Sheesh! That's a long way away for me so if someone wants to tell me, I won't mind. Jared said no one could believe the way the coffee cup landed upright when it dropped and that the lid flew directly at the camera.

EVERYBODY LOVES A CLOWN - I'm with Sam (don't like clowns) and Dean (don't like fun houses.) In fact amusement parks at night actually creep me out. This was a very emotional episode, but it left a lot of unanswered questions.

BLOODLUST - WTF? In the previous episode, Dean was shown smashing the Impala he's been repairing and this episode opens with the boys in what looks like a brand new Impala. I thought for a minute the car was doing a Christine. (Stephen King story about a car that repeatedly restores itself to new condition.) The boys were so funny in the morgue with the severed head. This episode had me feeling sorry for vampires. Well, at least these vampires. A good episode.

CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS - Ever notice when the boys dig up a grave that the sides are perfectly straight and the grave is perfectly rectangular? I think only a trained grave digger could be that perfect. Sam and Dean sure can go at each other with a vengeance, but Dean breaking down and apologizing for treating Sam so badly since John's death nearly made me cry along with Dean. It was such an emotional ending.

ION, I'm getting a cold. My nose is running like an open faucet and I've gone through an entire roll of toilet paper blowing my nose tonight while on the computer. I think I'll head to bed before I blow my way through a second roll.
