My Progress Binge Watching "Supernatural"

I was amazed at the number of you who commented on the entry where I said I had the DVDs of season one and intended to start binge watching. It was great to receive such a warm welcome to this fandom, which I know is filled with wonderful people

Dead In The Water is the episode where I both fell in love with Dean and got 100% hooked on the show. Also Raelle Tucker writes some of my favorite episodes in the few first seasons (until she left for TB!). And honestly, I liked Sera Gamble as a writer. I don't think she was ready to produce a show as head runner when they handed over the reigns, but I love her insights on different characters and was sorry that her show running went so dismissal and turned so many of the fans against her. Episode 12 'Faith' is written by Tucker and Gamble and is one of the best character episodes for Dean in the whole run of the show. I feel like it is the moment where everyone watching sat up and said, " Who is this guy?" of Jensen Ackles. He nails it. Jared and Sam also really shine in Faith.

Also, SPN is what introduced me to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and holy hell, I love that man and will watch anything/everything he does. I will throw down over that man. John's a messed up guy but a great complex character and JDM really makes you feel for him. (I am of the personal headcanon that everything that happens on the show after s5 when Kripke left as show runner is just glorified fanfiction and doesn't count, which is good cuz they assassinate the hell out of John's character later.) After s2 they couldn't get JDM back cuz his career had taken off anyways. But man, SPN gave me so much with bringing me back to fandom and all of that, but if all it had given me was discovering Jeffrey Dean Morgan, that would have been enough. Lol

A lot to comment on here. First of all, if you like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, you need to watch the movie "P. S. I Love You." The stars are Gerard Butler and Hillary Swank, but Jeffrey has a fairly big role about halfway into the movie. That's the movie that made me fall in love with him.

I'm glad to hear you're not a Sera hater. I guess I'll have to decide for myself whether or not I like her when the time comes. There are so many episodes people have mentioned liking and I'll get to them all eventually. Do you remember in which season the episode "Faith" appeared?

I could relate to the girl at the Supernatural Comic Con panel who said she started watching the show in April and watched a season a week until she was caught up. That will be me eventually.
