ribambelles Daybreak forces him to open his eyes hours too early with the morning sun as strong as if it were midday. Jinchul sits up and pushes sheets down from his shoulders down to his stomach. The room is freezing even with the too bright sunlight streaming in through thin delicate white curtains. It causes a stream of goosebumps to run up his arms from the air condition vent near the bed. It's too early for doing anything remotely active.
He pulls the sheets back up and holds a safe comfortable grip on them at his neck. It will take a minute or two but he intends to warm himself up once more and leave the heated bed when someone decides to turn off the AC.
His thoughts are finally beginning to dim out to let him fall into the first stages of sleep when more sunlight breaks into the room. Jinchul had found a somewhat shady position that had blocked the majority of the sun from his gaze, but the new addition fills the room all over. Light bounces off the mirrors and glossed items in the room, reflections fill into dark corners of the room and produce shadows everywhere in the room except where they should be: his face.
"I know you're awake. You were never good at pretending to be asleep."
The soft voice reaches his ears from the room's entrance and while Jinchul knows he should turn and face her, the sheets really are perfectly warm in the cold room. He hears her feet shuffle against the floor and knows she is opening the curtains and tying them back. His body turns to face the windows despite the near pain it causes him to look at the direct light.
"I have breakfast ready for you."
With her hair picked up off to the side in a style similar to the casual out and about ponytails her stylist puts her hair in, he can see that she has been awake for enough time to at least shower with seemingly wet hair behind her ears and at the base of her nape. Hyosung blocks a portion of the sun as she grabs one edge of the curtains and arranges them so they stay back.
"Yah, get out of bed already."
Hyosung makes her way towards the bed and sits on the edge opposite him, the farthest at that. She knows him too well to know he can simply pull her by the wrist and have her lay next to him. With a soft smile knowing she'd rather be in that position than pushing him off her bed, Hyosung begins to gently prod at his foot. "You have things to do today too. I have a hair appointment in a half hour."
That gathers his attention and he sits up slowly to meet her gaze. "Another color?" He is only curious and Hyosung doesn't know what to take his curiosity for. He has never been all that interested in her hair. "I don't know, maybe. They might trim it."
Jinchul comes up above the sheets and crawls over to half sit at her side, eyes still half closed as he rubs sleep out of them. He looks all of twelve and nothing like the romantic man he had been less than twelve hours ago.
"Don't let them cut too much off..." Jinchul begins as he fingers the small point of hair at the very end of her ponytail. Hyosung laughs softly as she grabs him by the wrist, her hand barely managing to even fully close over the thickness of it. She stands up only to turn and cross her legs under her, her body facing Jinchul in her still careful position. "You're cute in assuming I have say in what they do to my hair. You of all people should know how they are."
He sighs because it's true that he does know. Thankfully the stylists haven't done much to him and his members in terms of hair color but he knows that with the new trend in hair color, he should expect to see greens and reds over the breakfast table back home come the next promotional period. "You think I'd look sexy as a blond?"
Laughter fills the room and once her gums make her smile honest and tired and carefree, Jinchul pulls her up towards him. She settles herself in his lap, bottom snug in the shape his crossed legs create under her while careful she is no where near hurting him. She sticks out her tongue, distaste at the very idea of imagining him blond. "Leave those colors to me. You can keep to your natural hair," she hums as her fingertips graze over the short hairs at his nape.
Jinchul can only smile at her as she looks past him around his head as she toys with the longer bits of his hair. Hyosung presses a tender kiss to his cheek with intentions of renewing her persuasions in getting him out of bed. Jinchul has a different agenda, hoping to make her a few minutes late with a few more languid kisses. His cellphone goes off, helping her cause as it drives him to help her move aside so he can get to it. Hyosung takes that chance with him out of the bed and folds sheets and arranges pillows to make it obvious no one is getting back under the sheets.
With the phone pressed between his shoulder and ear, Jinchul helps her tug the corners of the comforter to flatten them. His manager is going off at his ear about how he is at the dorm waiting for the others to head off to practice. Jinchul sighs and begins pulling on his pants, eyes searching past the pastel blues of Hyosung's painted toenails. While he belts his pants, Hyosung turns up behind him and shoves his tshirt onto his head. His phone falls and they both laugh quietly trying to turn and fix the shirt while the squeaks of his manager is heard at the floor between their feet. She helps to put his arms through the holes while he bends down awkwardly to pick up his phone. When he is upright again, Hyosung's face is lit up with a huge grin as she calmly rolls down his shirt, fingers lingering at the hem.
His ears barely pick up the continuous hum of the voice on the phone at his ear as he looks down at his girlfriend with a wholly appreciative gaze. "How are you so lucky to have me," she asks and effectively has stolen the thought before it fully formed in his head.
"My mother helped me dress too and I don't remember her enjoying it as much as you seemed to," he whispers. She smiles again and he hugs her to him with a kiss to her forehead. The center of her crown has a small growing circle of dark where her roots are growing and push the glowing color out. Jinchul presses another quick kiss dead center of her crown as she begins to push him away with quiet demands he leave already. There is a chance that the small circle won't be there next time he sees her. Hopefully it won't be, he would rather have her hair killing him with its fumes than he wait its dissapearance and see her in a few weeks.
"I'll see you soon," he mouths at her while he agrees to meet his manager at a specific corner to be picked up.
They have no idea when 'soon' is. She nods her head and he kisses her one last time, firm and pressing on her lips. "If you want to still have a career to run back to, you should hurry," Hyosung nags as she pushes him away a final time.
He leaves her in her room and finally leaves. Hyosung sighs at how troublesome Jinchul truly was and looks around the room for her bag to go meet the rest of the members at the hair dresser. As soon as she steps out of the dorm, her phone rings.
She knows who it is. "You better be calling to tell me you are already at practice."
Laughter fills the line for a moment before he goes on. "Next time you're being cute and helping me dress, remember to help me tie my shoes. I tripped after taking two steps outside of your dorm."
"You are... "
"Cute? Impossible? Lovable," he supplies.
They will be at it for hours and it makes her members suspicious when she refuses to put down her phone throughout the day. "Hanging up." She cuts off the call and feels the tiny prick at having to put a damper on their otherwise relatively nice morning.
A smile still shows up on her face, a little thought at the back of her head that makes her feel loved. She fixes her bangs in the reflection of the elevator wall trying to ignore the vibrations of her cell phone in her small hand. Hyosung has never been too strong willed when it came to people she had a soft spot for.
'ㅠ ㅠ'.
Biting at her lips she considers a reply, a short one to inform him that it's time he paid attention to work and left her alone for the day. 'Your mother probably dressed you so fast she forgot to do it too. Anything to hurry you out of the house.'
The message is sent before she deems it finished accidentally so she types a second one. 'I'll remember for next time.'
