well, hello again lj

hmm, my first post in 4.5 months. and it's a doozy!

of course, by doozy, i mean "random list of meaningless crap i've been up to", but oh well.

yesterday and today i undertook a large organization project involving years and years of old papers. all sorts of shit...old forms, old documents, paystubs, important letters, etc. it was all crammed into one of - i shit you not - five or six different bags/boxes in my room. so, since i don't go back to work until thursday, i thought "i'm gonna get this right".

and for the most part, i have! i have one pile left to organize further into folders and a binder, my student loan stuff, but everything else has been sorted out, put in a proper storage place, and the entire mess purged for trash/shreddables. i would estimate i'm keeping maybe a third of what was hanging around; the rest i can easily get rid of.

speaking of work, i work at macy's, and it sucks. they a) don't pay me enough for it to be a good idea, 2) don't give me enough hours a week anyway, and d) expect me to be on my feet for the better part of my shift (usually 5, 6, or 8 hours.) ok, so that last one is fair - it IS a store after all - but due to my preexisting condition, technically referred to as "fucked-up ankle", i leave any and all shifts feeling like the entire left side of my body is close to falling paralyzed.

so, i am looking for another job that is in an office, and full time. yes, i'm well aware of the dangers of working full time when i haven't finished my thesis, but frankly i'm more afraid of all that could come to pass if i can't pay any of my bills, including the student loan ones which will start in a few months (since i have no future plans to be a full time student again.) so, i'll just have to figure it all out. i've come too far to not, honestly, and i truly believe this. i think that's where i have to approach it from.

also, i recently finished making this:

it was supposed to be a raspberry beret. it's not so much of a beret, really. quite raspberry, though!!
