If all relationships between men and women are "either cordial or adversarial" where do these sexless commercial transactions occur? Are those the cordial ones?
It seems like your reaction is awfully hostile for someone who no longer cares about gender issues. Just like asking "What the fuck are you staring at?" is usually a sign you are making a spectacle of yourself, assuring all those around that you "Really FUCKING DON'T CARE!!!" is a pretty good sign that you got some issues to work through.
Which is a large part of my proposal. I wrote a post on here a few months back about a woman who did little drawings from her menstrual blood. She definitely got a lot of flack for it but she also got a fair amount of praise from women all over who viewed her work as important and spiritually significant. Are they fucking high? Do you really believe for a second that a man could do the equivalent and be thought of as deep and spiritual? Not on your life. Calling it a double standard doesn't even begin to describe the reality. We've spent a generation "empowering" women so apparently every time they take a dump it is now a spiritual sisterhood event and at the same time spent a generation ingraining a sense of victimhood into their souls. We've created a generation of women who think everything they do is perfect and everyone is out to get them.
At the same time we've dumbed down and stereotyped males. There are only two men. There is the fat funny guy in the flannel shirt who is afraid of the opera, books, emotions, and anything remotely intellectual. Then there is the throat-slitting psychopath in the Armani suit who wants for nothing and doesn't take no for an answer. Chubby little pigfuckers and tycoons. That's it. If you don't fit one of those roles you get to be a fucking emotional cripple who pisses away his life writing overlong posts on his blog.
And the great part about it all is that it is all bullshit. Did you know that men are far more likely to be victims of violent crime than women? That's a fact. Did you know that even in countries that still view fat women as attractive they still have an almost identical rate of anorexia amongst young women? It actually isn't Kate Moss's fault or the white male corporate image machine. Genetics. Go figure.
Like it or not it is out there. Like it or not every man and woman I know feels the weight of the gender issue in some way. And I think that we've gotten the whole thing wrong. So I want to take a shot at saying something that means anything at all to myself and to the people I know. It might even mean something to a sexless bag of innards like yourself if you let it.
