Summary: The too many incidences where Sungjong should have stopped in one night and the if only's that plague his mind.
A/N: Written at 3 AM
It's a game of stolen kisses and lingering touches; which neither of them would change for the world. The tiny shivers they get when the other's fingers trailed down their skin is brief euphoria. The too quick brushes of their lips are surreal. Their skin on skin contact burns their flesh.
Sometimes, Sungjong wants more than Myungsoo has to offer with his butterfly kisses. He wants it rough and hard and violent and passionate and many more things Myungsoo would never give. He's digging his own grave letting himself grow accustom to his toe curling advances. If he was smarter, he would have never joined in on their two person game.
When Myungsoo had complained about Dongwoo and Sungyeol arguing, he should have never suggested he room with him for the night. If only he was wiser.
When Myungsoo curled up beside him in his bed, he should have kicked him out. If only he was thinking.
When Myungsoo draped his arm over his slim waist, he should have jerked away. If only his mind was working.
When Myungsoo's face was close enough for his breath to ghost over his lips, he should have pulled away. If only he wasn't so intoxicated.
When Myungsoo's eyes stared at him with some unknown intensity, he should have looked away. If only his own eyes didn't convey the same desire.
When Myungsoo leaned in closer to whisper something and he could feel his lips touching his with each word, he should have gone to sleep. If only Sungjong had told him stop instead of whispering back just to feel the electricity of their almost kisses.
When Sungjong pressed their lips together, Myungsoo should not have reciprocated. If only Myungsoo's hands had stayed put and not roamed the younger's body.
When Myungsoo's tongue traced the seam of his lips, he shouldn't have let out a silent moan and parted them. If only their tongues didn't fight and their salivas mix together.
When morning comes and their mouths are still panting from their heated kisses and their breaths were mingling together, that should have been the end of it. If only both their touches didn't drive each other to the brink of insanity. If only they didn't love the thrill they got when they touched. If only they could say no. If only they didn't love the game so damn much.
When Myungsoo gets a girlfriend and tells his fellow members, Sungjong thinks if only he had never initiated the first kiss. If only he lusted after Myungsoo instead of letting his heart flutter and do other stupid shit. If only Myungsoo returned those feelings of love.
What should have put their game to a halt doesn't.
Myungsoo still nibbles on Sungjong's collarbone. Myungsoo still runs his hands over Sungjong's flat stomach. Myungsoo still breathlessly whispers all the naughty things he'd do to him (which he never fulfills). And Myungsoo still hopelessly strings along Sungjong's torn heart.
Sungjong thinks if only he could confess his feelings to Myungsoo, but he doesn't want the game to end.
After all, they wouldn't change the game for the world (and Myungsoo was Sungjong's world).
Sungjong continues the games, despite knowing he's the loser in it.
