The last couple of evenings have been lovely.
Monday night I headed over to Pete's where we had a lovely evening chatting and listening to some of Pete's music. Pete is a lover of Jazz and big bands, and I've not heard anything yet that I have not really enjoyed. It is really nice to hear a selection of these records, as they are not something I would usually ever be exposed to. Brilliant. We also watched some of a Dance video which shows how stage dance shows progressed from the 30's onwards. It covers many different styles of dance too. I've borrowed the video to watch fully at home, what Pete showed me of it looked brilliant.
After leaving Pete's I headed home via Fresh & Wild and then the Raj for takeaway. The least said about the
incident with the chilli the better methinks ;)
Last night was also lovely. We had cunningly invited ourselves round to Mat (
8w_gremlin) & Liz's (
xullrae) house for dinner, since we currently have no kitchen. We were cooked an amazingly delicious Roast Dinner. Mat and I fought over the roast potatoes as usual ;)
The evening was wonderful, not just for the food but the company. We are really NOT looking forward to Mat and Liz moving to New Zealand, as they will be VERY missed :( I can't believe they will be leaving in about 4 months *cries*
In other news, this week we have been having a lovely guy in to fit our kitchen. There is so much to say about this, but I don't have the time or energy to rant about it all right now! I will write a post about it, with some before, during and after pictures (once I have the after pictures that is!), and Ian (
uvjunkie) might even write a post about it if he gets time. I'm sure his post will be much better than one I could write, because he has been there all week to see what has been happening and also knows a bit more about DIY than I do, so can describe the issues better. All I can say is what a f**king mess. We knew the people who lived here before us were bodge-jobbers, but I think we are only now beginning to realise the extent of the mess they have left us.
