Climbing
Climbing last night was great. There was Heppie (hepstar), Will and myself. The lovely Leanne (lsowersby) was unable to make it :( However, I was lame. I've been feeling under the weather since the weekend, which I'm sure didn't help, but mostly I was just lame. Though I got better as we went on at least.
Before we stopped for cake-break we did 6 climbs each. I did one 5A level climb, one 5C level climb and four level 5B climbs. I was having a hard time on the 5Bs again this week. Much more practice required.
After a break we did some fun stuff. No scary stuff. No fun. No scary. Uhm... scary-fun?!?
Heppie made me do my first lead climb! It was only a level 4 climb, however, it certainly felt harder than any level 5A because of the "oh my god, I'm going to fall and die" factor. The shakes that I had on my first week climbing came back in full force ;)
I got through it though, and in one piece too :)
After this I did another 5B on the small wall, before we moved over to the big boys wall *jumps for joy*
I love the big boys wall. It scares me something chronic, but then that's partly why I love it so. The sense of achievement is greater. Oh yes.
I seconded the new white 5A level climb that climbs up the wall, and bridges out sideways onto a piece of wall that is in the middle of the room. THAT was scary. Oh yes. I was perfectly fine until this point. If you fall at this point, you will swing and are more likely to do damage. Plus, you are looking down into the middle of the room, with no wall under you. Which is just so scary it is untrue! But I did it :) I'm kinda looking forward to doing it again!
I then did my all time favourite climb on the big boys wall, the 5B top rope climb. Its wonderful, I just love it :) And to finish, I went up a different 5A climb on the big boys wall.
