PIN!
Here's my finger out of its totally attractive splint:
It's been nearly a week since my pinky surgery (still can't get over how pathetic that sounds/is), and I am just beginning to be able to type with two hands again.
It has been FREAKING PAINFUL. The night after the surgery, it was still numb, so I slept pretty well. The night after though... NO SLEEP. NONE. AT ALL. I have never felt so much pain in my life. I have had to start taking the prescribed painkillers AND Nurofen every four hours. OUCH. Getting better now though.
As you can see, I have a pin in the end of my finger, which is bigger than I anticipated. I have new x-rays and I honestly can't see any of the bone because the pin is so freaking huge. (I'll put the x-rays up when I can be bothered.) They took my fingernail off, and found that the skin underneath had torn, and was getting SQUASHED BETWEEN THE TWO BROKEN BITS OF BONE. No wonder it hurt so much. Gross. My fingernail has been glued/stitched back on now and it feels really weird.
I haven't had a good look at the handiwork because of the dressing, but the doctor changed it on Wednesday and it looks a lot better than it did in the first place. I'll also put the original photos up when I can be bothered. Wow. I am lazy.
The best part is that work won't let me go in until the specialist has ok'd it... And I don't see him until Friday. HAR.
...The worst part is that no work = no money.
