Castiel tilted his head back and stared up into the sky. It seemed to stretch out into eternity, an autumn blue so brilliant it could’ve been stolen from a child’s box of crayons.
“Pretty, isn’t it?” Dean asked, quietly.
“Yes, it is. But it makes me feel…” Castiel paused, searching for the right word. “Alone.”
Dean glanced at him, “How do you figure?”
“From down here, the sky seems intimidating. It makes me realize how very small, weak and insignificant I really am.”
“Welcome to being human, Cas.” Dean sighed. “Give it some time, you’ll get used to the feeling.”
