I love the rain, especially when I'm not out biking or walking in it. Today was the first heavy rain we've had in Chicago since I've officially lived here, which is something like 2 months. I sat in a mystified stupor for quite some time in my bedroom watching the rain before I remembered the windows in the front room were wide open exposing various electronic devices to God's tears. I wonder what I did this time?
Old Man Zespy called me up and begged me to bring him 'his' chair to work that has been in my room for a couple weeks now. Consequently, I'm sitting on two milk crates in modest discomfort trying to blurgh. It's his birthday this Sunday (the 24th) and he doesn't want anyone to know, so make sure to wish him a happy birthday even though he'll be in Fargo leaving me home all alone. I thought I was the oldest 27 year old in existence, but Zespy will be 29 going on 77.
My mood meter has improved over the last 24 hours or so. Met up with Kate down in Wicker Park for a healthy gripe-off that's necessary every now and then. She treated me to some beers and my very first Chicago dog whilst sitting on the curb. I love that girl so hard it makes me dizzy sometimes, although this morning as I was about to leave her place she expressed disbelief and disappointment that I don't use conditioner on my hair and gave me a bottle of it that smells like my dad's aftershave.
So, I've been rapidly sending out resumes looking for a job and hadn't received a single callback for anything until today. I've got two interviews set up and hopefully another one that would be awesome to have. Cross your collective fingers for me friends!
I've got to go get all groomed up to hang out with Mikeage this evening. Oh, Kate, Apple, and his girlfriend will be there too I guess.
