i've been playing underwater hockey for over a month now...after every game at least one person from our batch always complains about a hit/ a bruise/ a nudge/ a some kind of injury...and i've always wondered how come i've never had any battle wounds and thought that i must be doing something wrong...but things changed last thursday...i actually got a bruise on my left arm and i went home feeling potential bruises on my right ankle and left thigh -- i was happy! i thought - wow -- proof that i play hockey ...then last night we played again...this time it was our team against regulars (6 vs 3!)...and i got what i've been wishing for -- a real battle wound -- i went up against a regular player...i tried to stop him from going forward by pushing the puck against him but he was too strong and swam past me twisting my wrist in the process...so now the palm/pinky area of my left hand is hurting...it feels swollen...it hurts when i try to lift things or when i shake my hand or when i try to do the stroke of a badminton backhand...

self diagnosis: since it doesn't feel broken its probably just a strained left hand

remedy: ice, linament and rest...any other suggestions?  should i bandage?

hopefully i'll be ok in time for the tournament on saturday (its our graduation!)...but it sucks right now bec i have rowing tomorrow morning and i dunno if i'll manage since its my rowing hand! sigh...

be careful what  you wish for ...i've learned my lesson...i just wanna stay healthy and injury free...its not worth it...
