back and sick!

am back from boracay...and instead of a glowing tan, i'm home with a cough, cold, terrible headache and heaps of memories and stories...

remember those video clips in thailand when the tsunami hit the shores?  that's how windy and stormy it looked in boracay.  the only consolation was i was able to catch some waves and body surfed!  it was awesome! maybe i should take up surfing too hehehe...

so inspite of the stormy weather and a 4-hour delay, the races were on!  imagine our fear when we heard about this...instead of complaining and worrying, we treked to a different race site and we were welcomed with coconut trees, sand and lotsa rain!  the race organizers obviously didn't plan for this because there was hardly any place to keep warm and dry...we had to make makeshift huts (thanks to the boys!) but it wasn't enough to keep everyone warm...so we waited shivering all the way...and i was slowly burning up, coughing and getting sick!

needless to say, race conditions were crazy, water way too choppy and water too shallow we were practically rowing sand!...BUT race results were good...we reached the semi's and that was awesome...:) for our 2nd heat we even beat UP in terms of time!...the after race party was crackin' and poppin' (did i just say that?! haha!!)...put it this way, i've never partied that way before!  i can't believe i've been missing out on a lot!

the heavens were kind enough to give us some sun on our last 2 days...so inspite of a terrible hangover, I tried to soak up as much sun as I could!  but it just wasn't enough...i'll have to rely on old manila sun to make me golden brown!

oh...this is not the end of our adventure -- our boat ride back to manila was delayed for 4 hours...and by the time we set foot on the ship, it was rocky and i was dizzy! -- i was asleep most of the time but that didn't spare me from motion sickness...i still feel the rocking in my head...

looking back, it takes lousy conditions to make for an incredible time and journey...and i wouldn't exchange this experience for anything! ;)
