Don't be afraid of doctors!

So apparently my aunt had been having health problems for years and never bothered to see a doctor. My mom is the same way, whenever she's having health issues i have to force her to go get checked out. Well i found out about my aunt and forced her to go to see a doctor in late january. In the past month we found out she has advanded stage 3 cancer in her cervix that has spread to her bladder, both kidneys, liver and possibly her stomach.

She's been in and out of the hospital since we found out. But this past week they started her radiation treatment and she looks worse and worse each day, so i think she's going to be there for a while now. Last time i saw her was when I went to visit her on wednesday with my mom and cousin. She's lost A LOT of weight, she looks like skin and bones, it's horrible. My mom went yesterday and said she looked like death, not good.

This is why it's so important to see your doctor on a regular basis and not be afraid of what they might diagnose. Because the longer you wait the worse it gets. When i was sick, i was seeing doctor after doctor, specialists, tests almost every week. Yes, it's exhausting and it interupts your life, but better to take that time then really regret it later. I ended up taking a year off of school to deal with everything and recovering. But look at me know, a clean bill of health and i can move on with my life. And if sometime else comes along, then i'll deal with that head on too. Better to face it and deal with it, then to run in the other direction in denial.
