All you food experts out there!

Now that I actually live literally one block away from work and can walk home for lunch, I am trying to get away from frozen dinners. (SOOO sick of them.) Now I'm not about to make a start from scratch three course meal or anything large. Unless I have STEP BY STEP very detailed instructions, I'm most likely to be standing there by the stove going ( Read more... )

Ingenuity! (don't ask, My brain was just killed by the 1981 film "Around The World With Dot.")

Hit you up I shall. I will hit you up so hard that your dad will be justifying his worries to your mum.

Alton Brown, me thinks he shall be my friend soon.

You can try me on AIM eventually too. (rosehiptea) But first: This works better if you have a few people to feed it to, but you get a prepared pizza crust, spread refried beans over it, put salsa (whatever kind you like) over that, put cheese on it (or don't; I didn't actually) and bake until bubbly.

Also Alton Brown is a god among men. (And kind of hot in a geeky way...)

Also: Take tuna (or don't -- I don't and I just use lots of beans), cannelini beans, sliced green olives, capers, and tomatoes (whatever kind is safe to use these days). Mix them up in whatever proportions you like; add lemon juice and serve over lettuce or just eat it.

Mmmm... THe salad type thing sounds yummy. I'm always up for new weird ways to use lemon too! (Lemon is my FAVORITE thing in the world...Everything's better with lemon!)

And yes... Alton Brown... That man is a sex god in the kitchen.

You need bento love!

I live off bento meals now. They are easy and last. I always make more of stuff and you can always save the left overs for later bento meals.

I love salmon and love Cheesecake factory salmon. If you take miso, soy sauce, sugar, and rice vinegar you get pretty close to their flavor. I would say a tablespoon of each for every piece about the size of your palm. You can always add more tablespoons of each to make more. I normally for that just wing the measurements.

Ooo! I agree. It's always nice to get ideas and try it yourself.

I never worry about looks. Nothing I cook ever looks that good, but it normally tastes good!

I recently learned how to make my own soft cheese! I hope to try it soon.
