BEEEEEEEEEES!
so i went to the fair this evening, which is basically the last-chance-time. i went by myself b/c that's just how exciting life at home is. i got lost sort of on the way, but whatever. the point is....
there was a whole station about honey. there was a beehive full of bees, a beehive without the bees, some beehive containers, and DOZENS of kind of honey, with taste testing options!! it was so exciting. i've found that i really enjoy dark honey. one kind almost tasted like licorice, buti didn't get that one because i know only i would eat it, and that's no fun. i bought something slightly less strong called buckwheat honey instead. i bought honeycomb too, of course.
and then i found out why my elementary school's mascot was the Bees, which i noted earlier was a fun coincidence. medina apparently used to specialize in beeswax candle production, and some guy here invented easily affordable beekeeping equipment. so medina, where i grew up, is a secret honeybee capital! an unusual proportion of people near me have beehives in their backyard, or on their roof, etc. the guy told me it's really easy to order equipment and bees online. mail-order bees!!!! how exciting is that? especially for the mailmen??? eeeee
i had to sternly reproach myself for considering raising bees on Peabody's roof just because the guy told me it was possible. but i'm still thinking about it. he said no one would notice. bad self. bad. stop.
anyway, i'm going to go back to pouring over the august edition of Bee Culture magazine. (after i watch the Gods Must be Crazy.) i am sure it will give me much information about the Devil, so that i may inform my constituency.
geeky glee,
