danger: keep children out of reach of clocks

oh random titles...

anyway, today's big event was this:

I accidently pushed the Big Red Button at work this morning.

you'd think a lowly t-shirt screen-printing family biz wouldn't have such dangerous things lying around, but they're there all the same.

though technically, i didn't push it per se. i triggered it by dropping a fan on it. took me a while to figure out what happened 'cause all i saw was the dryer conveyor belt stop. first thought: is this thing weight-sensitive?
then i saw people running around, shouting "get the rake! get the rake! chinese fire drill! (that would be my weird boss shouting that one).
of course, the rake was stuck on some really high shelf, wedged between some boxes. it took about the same amount of time to undo the emergency brake and restart the dryer as it did to get that thing down...GREAT system.
luckily, no fire occurred, no shirts were burned, and the order was already screwed up anway so one more crisis impacted little.

also: saturday i had a lot of fun with kyle. tennis in the rain, pool, music, Max&Ermas, cribbage, and Boondock Saints. human contact is so NICE.

sunday was my little cousin once removed (or something) 's sixth birthday party. she's pretty spoiled. the event actually has a name among our family the "Hopefest" (based on her name). to me "Hopefest" is a good name for a cancer fundraiser but...whatever. it was okay. there was food. i got to talk to some relatives i haven't seen since christmas. speaking of that, apparently "Hope's Christmas" is twice as big as "Hopefest". i don't really want to investigate this claim, personally.

Everyone: Go see A Scanner Darkly. it is amazing. plus, weird animation makes keanu reeves a better actor!

c'est tout, a la moment. au revoir.
