Cat and Mouse

Doctor Martens didn't get back to me about the Bull Ring job which has fucked me off so much. I haven't even had a rejection email yet. I haven't found anything else to apply for yet... :( It's so tiring constantly realising that I am stuck where I am. I know it is a job and I do try to remember that I could be jobLESS but still. Working for Sally and Mark is so draining. There must be more to life!

The only good thing about Baileys at the moment is that my silver jewellery is definitely being included in the hArt week exhibition space! I've been pretty busy on my days off making birds nest necklaces and a birds nest ring, (more nesty rings to come now I've worked out an easier way to clean them!), and some flower bud necklaces. I need to make some flower bud earrings too. All these things will be for sale, so hopefully I shall be making some money out of the along the way. When hArt is over and if it went well on the sales front, I think I need to look for a proper gallery to get my stuff into.

The wildlife in my garden has got a little more interesting recently! My garden camera has captured video of a Hedgehog and a Stoat/Weasel (not sure how you tell the difference!). The hedgehog is quite large and very healthy looking! I hope he/she comes back again soon! The stoat/weasel is very cute <3

Last night was suddenly very busy for my cats. Mitzi brought in a shrew, which she was intending to eat, even though most cats don't like the taste of shrews and the last time she ate one it poisoned her... :/ We also currently have a mouse loose in the house... One of our beloved felines clearly thought it would be fun to let it go, whilst very much alive. I've set up a humane trap in its last known location, but no joy so far....

This week I have been to London to visit family, mostly because my Nan isn't all that well at the moment. She's always got some kind of ailment.. But she keeps having these palpitations at night for which no doctor seems to be able to find a cause. She didn't seem too bad really, especially considering she is 89 now. My dad is being really stupid about it all though, sticking his head in the sand. If you ask him on the phone how she is he just says she is "fine" :/
He took me shopping to Westfield in Stratford, but I wish he'd just given me some cash and sent me off on my own, cos he's RUBBISH at shopping. I wore him out within two and a half hours. No stamina.
He also took me to the Proms, which was actually really good, but it was just the two of us, and I just have nothing to talk to him about. He doesn't know what to talk to me about either.
It was good to see my cousin Rick though. We went out to the pub on Tuesday night and had a good chat about stuff including some pretty murky family history...
On my way home I took a trip to Covent Garden, which is one of my favourite places to go to in London. There is a Punch and Judy show there at the moment, which is being compared by Barry from Eastenders (! Lol).

I got home on Thursday, making my Mitzicat very happy. I think she had been missing me. I have a few more days off work which is lovely. Don't have to go back till Wednesday. However I have now got the beginnings of a stinking cold for my audacity in taking some holiday :(

I CAN'T BREATHE.

In other news; I am turning into my mother and am enjoying my first Ian Rankin novel. I feel decidedly middle aged.
