It's Uni Break time and i'm at home, not doing much, yet at the same time, doing lots. Confusing, i know. I'll explain, lets start from the beginning... *wavy flashback lines*~~~~
I was officially done with uni tuesday, last week. 4 days before our royal visit. So ofcourse, i was attempting to finish a new project, a late 15th Century Burgundian military standard, which i've changed slightly to include a personal motto and heraldry, but has the same design elements, and finish my Burgundian overgown.
Now i know doing things for an event isn't the best idea, but i'd actually been planning the standard for a while. I've actually plotted out a whole alphabet chart based off of the stylised text of the originals. Looks very spekkie. But there was an A&S competition on the weekend for best banner, so i decided to get my banner up and running. Although i didn't finish it i took it along to show a couple of people and then i was told i could enter unfinished items, but i was still the only entery. The gown i have been working on for a while on and off, but i'm not the biggest fan of sewing and have been busy with uni, so i havent bothered lately. I did'nt finish that for the weekend either, but atleast i made a start twards finishing it lol:P This doesn't bother me too much, the real reason i wanted it done was so that i could finally wear my hennon. I'll post piccies when they're done, but here are some teasters for now.
The event was fun. At the feast we performed a mime act to the tale of Roland and Oliver, which involved the riding of hobbie horses and battles with spoons. I also recieved a Silver Helm. I was very happy
So now that the rush is done, Im finishing projects which need finishing. Such as...
1 My Standard
2 My Gown
3 Painting a shield for David
4 A Belt Buckle
5 The belt for the Belt Buckle
6 New Chaussers
7 David's new Gambeson
And thouse are just the things that i've started and are waiting for my return lol So even though im a bum at home, i'm still working hard.:P
