...because the sun shines directly into my room this time of day, making it very very hot. I guess I could sit on my roof and do something productive.
So something very "Yasmin" happened earlier. I downloaded the entire discography of The Slackers, whom I used to listen to occasionally when I was younger (in fact I got the idea when I was reading through this journal and looking at the "listening to" sections in some posts). It's ska/reggae, pretty funky music, though a lot of it sounds alike. Anyway the song I particularly used to love was "Certain Girl" of which there are billions of versions by billions of artists. I maintain that the version by the Slackers is by far the best. Anyway so I start listening to the discography, flicking through some of the other favourites but cannot find Certain Girl for the life of me. Surely a discography would cover any song ever made by them? Apparently not. Certain Girl was a bonus track on one of their albums. Gutted. So I search the entire internet including youtube, google and what not to find this track. Finally I get on Amazon and pay £0.79 to download this song.
Worth it.
In other news, went for a quick grocery shop. It's very hot outside but lovely, in fact that roof idea is sounding more and more appealing. All I need now is a nice cold cocktail and a deck chair.
Can't wait for the Spa holiday in september. For some awesome photos of the place, see cut:
