benji bones
i got bored and started writing a book. this is what i have so far.....tell me if you would read it.
His grasp loosened and the bottle gave into gravity. The commotion awoke him and the walls began to suffocate his scaly skin. What time was it? Had it been minutes, hours, days? His limbs were stiffened, and he felt near comatose. He let his fingers brush slightly against his face. Still battered, still a reminder of the not so distant cotastrophy.
His name was Benji Bones and it was quite a fitting name. At a towering height and ungodly weight, the only substance preventing Benji from whithering away was his leather skin. Benji was a decent soul with an alternative life that a select few were permitted to share with him. Over the years Benji's shame and conscious had subsided, and he had grown to consider himself a modern day saint. After all it wasn't doctors and lawyers he was knocking off.....although a lawyer every once in a while wouldn't be such a burden. His sugercoated story was one of great imagination. After volunteering as a medic in countries all over the world he had taken an early retirement to settle in Los Angeles. He couldn't have been much further from reality. Surrounding aquantinces knew him only as Benji, never bothering to inquire about where he came from, let alone his last name. He was a walking enigma, a selfless contraction. He was a charming man, witty and intelligent. Benji was insanely confident in his elaborate hoax.
He clumsily stood up, fumbling to stand. The room was a dizzy blur, and he grabbed the nearest bottle and took a long drink. He needed as much preparation as possible in order to face the man in the mirror, the mess he was. Swollen, battered and bruised his eyes welled with tears. Death was something Benji faced daily, but this was different. This was disrespect, this was betrayal, this had come from the hands of a traitor. Trust now meant something entirely different, and Benji clenched his fists as revenge flooded his clouded mind.
