Ah, I've had a brilliant summer week. Meeting friends, eating out (several times, heh), visiting a gorgeous 18th century ship, listening to Nightwish in Helsinki and today, heading to the medieval market. Busy busy, but even so, this is how a vacation should be spent.
The replica of an 18th century Swedish East India Company's ship Götheborg was visiting Turku this week and I managed to squeeze in a photo opportunity tour of it while it was moored to the riverside dock by the maritime museum.
I love tall ships! OMG. I so want to get on a tall ship sailing trip. I'd be scared like heck to climb up the rigging, but by god, I'd do it. In the spirit of my dear Hornblower.
Nightwish was great yesterday. The two warm-up bands, Epica and Amorphis, I didn't know at all (well, I did know of Amorphis), but didn't mind listening to. But Nightwish does put on a show to my liking. A couple of weeks ago I was in Helsinki and went to the Kylie Minogue concert, but to be honest, Nightwish is clearly more to my taste when it comes to live performances.
We had all kinds of weather while at the Tuska festival site. Pouring rain, hail(!), sunshine, thunder and luckily, only sunshine when Nightwish played.
Tuomas looked, well, really yummy in his white coat. ;)
And now, I'm heading to the Medieval Market. I missed it last summer (well, I didn't exactly mind it, having been in Wales at the time...) so now I'm going to enjoy it even more.
