Distracting thoughts

No, this post is not about Hornblower or Ioan. :P

It's about my upcoming trip to London. After getting a good tip about accommodation in London, I began surfing around a bit. The hotel I was recommended looked very nice and I'll certainly consider it (thanks, mitzi007), but I managed to find a b&b that was a bit cheaper (only £40 per night in a single room, with a toilet & shower) just around the corner of the recommended place. So now I have to make up my mind as to where I'll be staying for 3-4 nights.

So now my "problems" are as follows, advice will be appreciated.

Do you guys have experience on booking rooms via a service like TravelStay.com or uk.bookings.com? Should I use a service like that or book directly from the hotel? Does it make any difference? (Yeah, I'm a newbie in matters like this...)

Another problem (you can't really help me with this one, I think) is that I have to decide whether to book my room for 3 or 4 nights. My friend'll be arriving in Stansted on Monday night at 23.45 and I'm not sure when the first (last?) bus of the day from London to Cardiff will leave and therefore I'm not sure if I need to keep my room till Tuesday or not. (Yes, I know I'm making an issue out of something that will probably not be a real problem either way - but I'm just "thinking out loud" here...) So, decisions, decisions.

Paid the flights just a few moments ago, though. No turning back now. :P Whee!

Got to herd my thoughts back in line now, got to grade some papers... Blech.
