Dear lord how bored can a person be? I've divided my time today between trying to find renaissance / folk musicians who could possibly come to perform at the Fantasy Feast later this summer and reading a friggin' exam book on international organizations. Sheeesh.
Surfing for musicians was ok, at least there were some interesting song samples and so on, but when practically all the really interesting groups have booked performances already for that particular weekend I'm actually interested in booking them for, the fun of it evaporates. *puff* it said as it went. The fun, I mean.
But the exam book. I've read it once before (and with an equal amount of enthusiasm, eh) and it's so drab I want to howl out of sheer frustration. Filled with all sorts of abbreviations (INGO, NGO, BINGO, UN*which ever ending of the bazillion possibilities*, and so on) and numbers and years, it's horrible to read and ah, did I mention already that IT BORES THE CRAP OUT OF ME! *ranty mcranterson here, hello...*
Luckily the exam is already on Friday, so tomorrow I'll just quickly review the three books I have at home and then go to the library to see whether or not I can get my hands on the fourth book in the library reading room. And then I cross my fingers that I'll pass the exam despite my less-than-half-hearted efforts...
And then I can get back to the more interesting stuff, like the religious orders in Tudor England... :)
Oh, but so that I won't sound completely out of character with my bored rambles, I do have to mention there was one thing that made me squee today. I'm finally going to be able to take a course on Bollywood dances here in Turku! Yay! I'll have to wait till November, though. Which is a bummer, but in any case, I'm soooo looking forward to that. It'll only be a 4-hour course, but maybe I'll be able to take extra classes out of town some day, since the teacher comes from Estonia anyway and she's been teaching short courses like this around Finland before.
And I got asked to take part in a panel discussion in Finncon. Eh. At least it's not political sf this time... ;)
