Fifteenth Steal || Video/Action for Violet/Gym-goers
[ the feed starts, focusing on Kay's match with Falkner. Apparently she gave her PokéGear to someone to record her fight. She's a lot more serious-looking than she usually is... and kind of drained, since someone spent all night training/being too wound-up while she let her team rest OH WELL. For the sake of this being not a long post, her Gengar's carefully-timed Curse/Sucker Punch combo took care of Falkner's Noctowl, while Kay's own Noctowl and her Wooper... well--
There's a sleepy-looking Honchkrow that just got nailed in the eyes with a Water Gun and finally hit the ground. Kay grins, the look of a daredevil. ]
I told you we'd bring him down to our level. Flapper! Slam! [ the Wooper happily complies, and all those Tail Whips and whittling of health pay off when the Honchkrow moves on from sleeping to just plain being unconscious. Falkner frowns, but immediately sends out Pidgeot. Kay recalls the tired Wooper and nods to the Murkrow on her shoulder, sending him into the fight. With both trainers calling out rapid-fire orders, the birds go at it in the air. With Pidgeot's Agility being used to give it even more of an advantage, Byrne takes a few hard hits, but Kay only narrows her eyes. ]
Pidgeot! Use Twister!
Byrne! Assurance! [ the attack's power doubled, this actually sends Pidgeot plummeting until it flaps back up again at the last minute. Both Falkner and Kay are smiling grimly now. ]
That won't work again! Feather Dance!
Sorry, I'm stealing back everything you've done! Byrne, use Haze! And then let's show him the kind of luck a thief's got!
[ with the black mist filling the area, it's hard to see anything except something with glowing wings plowing into... something else. When it clears, there's a very gleeful Murkrow zooming into Kay's arms, a Pidgeot on the ground, and the match is won.
So what does Kay do? Cheer ecstatically? Do a pose and speech? Steal something? ]
Hang on, guys! You did a great job, I'll heal you right now!!
[ ... Nope, she starts to make a beeline for the Pokémon Center to heal her Pokémon, completely forgetting about the Zephyr badge until Falkner has to call her back to get it.
