Fanfic Dump. So yeah, long and useless non-come back post.

Full Title: How Shida got the Arriety role (and how Sakuraba Nanami triggered it), as narrated by the Director.

Pairings / characters: KamiShi, KamiNami (which so sounds like KamiNomi and yeah I should shut up. lol.), Shida's mom, Director

Genre: General (which roughly translates to: I don't really know so yeah.)

Summary: SEE TITLE. It's a long and very summary-ish title. (mainly because I'm lazy to think up an awesome title) orz. Inspired by the Directors's comment: "I saw Shida-chan figting with her mom. She was really stubborn so I saw Arriety in her." OR something like that.

Warning: I bet there'll be OOC characters, but that's mostly because my view of things are distorted. Which is really the result of my awesome bias. So yeah. Oh and I haven't watched Arriety. I'm simply narrating through my limited knowledge. Forgive me~

Disclaimers: I don't own people. Like seriously. Actually, no one owns other people. (Even though I sooooo want to own Kamiki's heart *shot*)

=========================================================================================================

I didn't really think that casting her would be a good idea. She was a popular actress, and not an experienced dubber. I bet people would think that the new ghibli is more on commercializing and profit now, than on the actual quality. We, of course, would beg to disagree. We still follow by Miyazaki-sensei's ideas and principles. Quality is always over profit.

So yes, I didn't want to choose her.

And of course you're wondering now why I did, right?

:)

Well, it wasn't exactly her voice. There were a lot of girls with as much talent as her, or maybe even more. What she had was the attitude. She was a beginner in dubbing, but she was definitely not new in being stubborn or strong. She had the air of confidence. I saw Arriety in her.

Still, I was confused at first. Even though she was Arriety in my eyes, there was still the problem of wrong judgement from people and her being a novice. This was a make or break film for the new staff at Ghibli, and to me as a new director. I couldn't just trust her with this big responsibility.

What changed my mind was a scene. An event I saw just after her audition...

...
..
.

Shida Mirai walked back to her seat at the waiting area. It was just around break time so I was strolling around. She was silent as she stared at the script in front of her, eyes unreadable. 'What could she be thinking about?', I found myself wondering. Her audition was over and, as I said, she was perfect for it. She need not read the given script over and over again.

The door of the waiting area suddenly opened, revealing a middle-aged woman whose eyes almost scared me. I had always been a coward at those sort of expressions. She was definitely angry at something.

Or someone.

...which was the case, as she rushed to Mirai-chan in a few seconds. She panted deeply as she stared at the little girl.

"I told you not to audition." the woman said in between pants.

"And I told you, mom. I want to audition. I won't neglect my other projects, if that is what's worrying you. I promise." the girl calmly replied.

The woman, which turned out to be Miss Mirai's mother, frowned at this. "Your schedule will be full and you'd be too exhausted. I'm worried of your health, Mirai."

Mirai sighed and stood up, taking her mother's hand and pulling her to the side so as not to attract any more unnecessary attention. I followed them with my gaze, and even walked a bit closer to hear what their conversation will be.

"I want to do this. You don't know how important this is to me. I'll do my job properly. I can do this, believe me."

The utmost confidence in her voice, the way she reasoned with her mother... shrink her into a two inch girl and she would definitely be Arriety. There was strength in the way she handled herself. Confidence.

.
..
...

I should have probably decided to give her the role there and then. But I didn't. I still wasn't sure. The next thing that happened softened me up a bit though... and I guess it was the final trigger, the final sign, for me to give her this role.

...
..
.

Shida-san (mother) sighed in defeat. She probably knew that she would never convince her daughter otherwise. It looked like the little lady was determined to get the role.

I was starting to get curious as to why.

She was popular and, as far as I've heard, she also had a lot of projects in tow. I can't help but wonder what could have triggered her into this.

... The mystery soon unraveled. Starting with my conversation with Kamiki Ryunosuke.

That boy was a constant voice in ghibli movies. He had been working with the studio for a very long time, from his childhood up to now that he's a teenager. He was a brilliant voice actor. He could project his voice so well that you'd just feel what the character is feeling. A genius, as what Miyazaki-sensei had said.

As soon as talks of a new movie with a male teenager as protagonist arised, I immediately asked if Ryunosuke-kun would be the lead. I had seen him work, and I knew he wouldn't give us any problems.

"Good morning" the boy greeted, placing his bag down gently. He sat beside me, taking the script from the table and reading it quickly. He was immediately thinking about the role as soon as he entered. What a professional.

"Did you see the cute girls outside?" I asked, with a small teasing smile. Ryunosuke-kun had become somewhat like an adopted child of the studio for years now, and we easily tease him around everytime we see him.

A smile appeared on his face. "Don't tell me you have interest on teenage girls, Director-san~?" he said with an equally teasing smile.

I laughed at that. "No, no. I was thinking of who would be our soon-to-be unofficial daughter-in-law. I wonder if she's here?" I stood up and glanced outside through the blinds. "Oh. Nanami-chan just arrived. Isn't she your friend?" A smirk was definitely on my face then.

I didn't hear a response, so I quickly looked at him. He was seriously reading the script, for a moment trying to be Sho and not Ryunosuke. It had always amazed me how he does that. That utter concentration to get into the role.

With a chuckle, I decided to not bother him for now. Instead, I looked outside, trying to see what the girls were up to. I was actually still pretty curious of how Ms. Mirai was doing.

Mirai-chan was sitting silently on her seat, still reading the script. An amused grin settled on my face when I realized that her expression was identical those of Ryunosuke-kun's.

A great idea came to my mind. "Ne, do you have anyone in mind for the Arriety role?"

"...my classmate will try out. From what I've read here... she'll be perfect." a fond smile was on his face.

I smirked. Mirai-chan is his classmate, right?

After a few minutes, Nanami-chan sat beside Mirai-chan. I couldn't hear what they were talking about. Nanami-chan was smiling cutely while talking. I got curious so I excused myself and walked to the waiting room.

"...-ki don't really care." was the first thing I heard when I was close enough. This was uttered by Mirai-chan, and it was almost as if there was a hint of fear in her voice. Was she afraid that Nanami-chan might get the role?

This voice was different from her voice earlier, but it still somehow made me think of Arriety. It was just how I imagined Arriety's voice would be once she understands the fact of her home being in danger. Fear concealed in confidence.

"I want to get this. I've been wanting to get to ghibli for a long time... And since the lead will be Ryu-kun..." Nanami-chan was explaining with as much air of confidence. She, too, was strong-willed. And not to mention the fact that she isn't a novice in voice acting anymore. (Though of course there's the problem of her being too cute for Arriety...)

Mirai-chan's eyebrow was raised. "Since the lead will be Ryu-kun...?" this was almost said in a whisper, almost like desbelief. "I will get this role, Sakuraba-chan. I will." It was as if the other girl's statement rebuilt her earlier almost-shaking confidence.

"How sure are you?" It was a challenge. A friendly one, but still.

I expected her to waver, even just a little. But she answered with her head held up high, her voice strong and confident. "One hundred percent sure." She smiled. "I get what I want. That's for sure."

A similar smirk settled on my face. This girl really had the attitude. She's way too perfect for the role for me to even think of anything else.

The door of the office opened slowly, and out came Ryunosuke-kun. He smiled at the two girls' direction and waved energetically as greeting.

"How's the audition?" he asked when he was close enough. He sat backwards on the monobloc chair, in front of the two. "Think you'll get the role?"

Nanami was pouting. "Shida-chan said she'll get the role for sure."

Mirai-chan merely shrugged in response.

Ryunosuke-kun smiled that fond smile once again and ruffled her hair. "You're so cute when you act all high and mighty like that."

"I don't act all high and mighty, Mikki. I am just too great for you." she crossed her arms above her chest.

He laughed at that. "Yeah right, Arriety. Let's wait until you're two inch tall and let's see who's great." An almost proud smile was on his face, as if he was also sure she'd get the role.

I couldn't help but feel pity over Nanami-chan's sad eyes. She excused herself and walked to the audition room. It was her turn. I wish her all the best.

But I knew that Shida Mirai will definitely get the role.

...and she will most definitely get that boy too.

'I get what I want, huh?'

.
..
...

"I'll be dubbing another project soon." I heard Ryunosuke-kun tell Mirai-chan.

"Movie?"

"A game. I'll be voicing the magician lead in the game. And Nanami-chan will voice the leading girl." he nonchalantly told her, browsing through a JUNON magazine.

"...oh." Her eyebrows were furrowed.

Nanami-chan has her ways huh?

A chuckle escaped the boy's lips. He walked to her and suddenly hugged her gently. "You don't have to audition to be my leading lady for every single project, you know?"

She visibly pouted. "Sakuraba-chan is..."

"a friend, Mi-chan. She's just a friend." He hugged her more tightly. "On the other hand, you..." He kissed her forehead ever so softly. "...are my one and only leading lady."

Oh my... our son had grown up well, ne? What a romanticist.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it. And yes, it's almost crappy. Almost, because I personally think I like this. For one... I finished it in a few minutes (which is greaaaat.) AND it's KamiShi. And I have inserted Nanami. At last.

Scratch everything. I love this one. Mainly because it's been such a long time since I last properly wrote XD. Even though this one's not exactly proper. Oh well XD

And this...

Title: Namesquish
Characters: Chinen, Shida, Yamada, Yuto
Fandom: ...1-D Horikoshi
Genre: Friendship, Romance, (crack?)
Summary: "A fight over a very stupid thing", as how Yamada calls it XD
Note: This was written for obsessed_makpa (a very long time ago) and still dedicated to her :) Ganbatte in life Kohai<3

"Yama... Jima" read Kamiki aloud, staring at the matching bracelets on Yamada and Yuto's palms. "Wow that's... really weird. And sort of... disgusting."

Yamada placed his bracelet into his pocket. A soft blush of embarrassment was on his cheeks as he said, "Weird, right? Yuto's neighbor gave it, a cute little fangirl. She said we're a... nice... pair." Yuto nodded in agreement and blushed as well when he remembered that 'cute couple' was the exact term used. What do they teach cute little girls these days?! O.O

Chinen bounced to the tall boy's side and peeked at his hands. "Uwahhh~ Kawaii na?" He smiled and snatched it away. "Yama as in Yamada and Jima as in Nakajima~ Cute name!" He then fell into a contemplative silence as he stared at it.

"Chii~?" Shida appeared beside the group with a curious expression. "What's that?" she asked, pertaining to the thing on his hand.

Instead of answering, he glanced at her then back at the bracelet and asked, "Ne, if Yuto and Yama-chan has YamaJima as a pair name... what's ours then?", with a small questioning smile.

She tilted her head to the right while muttering "Hmmm... pairing name huh?"

A moment of silence. Kamiki and Yuto were smiling fondly at the two. Yamada was wondering why the two would even need a pair name.

"Uhmmm... ShiNen?" she suggested.

A chuckle escaped Kamiki's lips. "Then Mi-chan will be the prominent one in the relationship? That's... fitting" His grin was so wide, Chinen wanted to pounce on him in anger.

"Eh...?" Shida didn't really think of it that way but it did make sense.

Chinen pouted and stuck out his tongue at Kamiki. He couldn't come up with a retort though as the teacher arrived already.

"So... ShiNen then?" Shida opened the topic as soon as they opened their bentos.

Chinen looked away with a scowl on his face. "Yada." He pouted and poked his lunch. "It sounds ugly."

A smirk surfaced on her face. "So you're still angry over what Mikki said?"

"No" he said flatly, glaring at her.

"Your pout says you are" she crossed her arms above her chest in an all-knowing manner.

His pout turned into an impish smile as he asked, "What? Have you profiled every pout I make?"

She shrugged and raised an eyebrow. "No. Just the five variations you usually do. You are so see-through, Chii."

"No I'm not. You're just too obsessed with me, Mi-chan."

Shida's eyes widened in surprise. "I am not!"

"You are. And you can't deny it." A smug grin was on his face now.

"I am not! You don't even have proof." Her brows were furrowed at him.

"Isn't it proof enough that you interpret every single pout I make?"

She blushed a little but did not surrender. "You're just too obvious. I am not obsessed with you. On the contrary..." she suddenly turned confident as she uttered "You are. With me."

He couldn't help but stand up in defiance. "How could you prove that, little princess?"

"Well, hmm..." her smile grew wider and more teasing. "You asked everyone I worked with in class whether I had a crush on Hongo-kun."

A blush.

"You asked them the food I like"

"..."

"And you begged Yamada-kun to bring you to our Tantei taping."

Her every words made him feel smaller and smaller until he was already sitting on his chair.

"Need I say more?"

He shook his head violently. He then glared at the side and muttered "traitors..."

"So...?" Her hands were on her hips and she looked like she just won an important contest.

He blushed crimson as he held up a hand. "Stop. Just stop. I get your point already."

"You admit you're obsessed with me?"

He pouted and looked down. "I'm not obsessed. I just... really like you. A lot."

She smiled, went closer and hugged him gently. "Awww... I know" He smiled into the hug, loving the feeling of warmth she exudes. She went back to her place and looked him in the face.

A look of discovery. "You know what, I just saw Mikki's point. ShiNen probably fits us best."

He looked indignant. "B-but I'm the guy!"

"Yamada-kun and Yuto-kun are both guys. Yamada-kun looks like a girl and he's the first syllable" she said in an as-a-matter-of-fact way.

"But you're a real girl. You act like one and you look like one. The boy is supposed to be the first syllable. And Yuto-kun acts like a girl anyway." he explained, trying hard to prove his point. He then muttered, "And why do they even pair them up....? They're both guys >.<"

"Chii, face it. You look like a girl and act like the brattiest one."

"B-but!"

"But what?"

In a second he had stood up and inched his face close to Shida's. "I have a sexy side too" he whispered with a smirk.

"Doesn't work." She blushed a little but did not flinch. "Yamada-kun did that once already. It never works." She silently glared at him.

He inched closer....

and closer...

And finally bridged the gap between their lips. It was a short and sweet kiss, just as how Chinen likes it. "I bet he didn't do that."

She immediately blushed and looked down. "That... could work." After getting over the initial shock, she smiled widely and looked at him again. She took out a piece of paper and wrote down one word...

ChiDaaa

"There! Our pair name."

He smiled like a child who just convinced his mother into buying him lollipop. "First syllable~" His expression turned curious when he asked, "But why does it have three A's?"

She smiled secretively and said, "Oh nothing. Just felt like it~"

He was too happy of having the 'prominent role' that he didn't see how devilish the smile on Shida's face was.

'Pseudo-prominent'

A/N: There~ Finished! First ChiDaaa fic. I really loved writing this XD
