Family Feud
The tour brushup. Toshiya had dragged his very timeline confused lover to it via Die's Grand Cherokee, who still couldn't get over it but promised the bassist he'd behave himself. They arrived twenty minutes early which gave Toshiya reasonable time to act as tourguide around the large studio. Millions of posters and commercial ads decorated the walls along with each record album plaqued in all their own shining glory. If these weren't proof enough-with corresponding dates and band member signatures-the staff had reason to fear Toshiya's eventual conniption.
Concerned orbs fixated on the shorter yet so sexy and hunky guitarist. Each time the two passed another poster-another year-Toshiya bit his lip nervously; by the time they'd reach the front again, no bottom lip would exist.
Toshiya knew nothing would really catch his lover's eye here, these were more or less impersonal and only reminders of what they'd briskly accomplished. Toshiya wanted to reach Kaoru's heart and to do that he needed fan messages or a photo album, of which none were at the studio.

Kaoru promised him complete silence until shown everything, until then, no arguments were permitted or even substantial: to Toshiya's, and 2007 Kaoru's logic, no argument was valid until all evidence had been presented. Toshiya wouldn't have it any other way. Thus, the brunette grumbled his objections silently.
"Can I speak now?" Kaoru had been pretty patient listening to the bassist's explanations but it still didn't prove anything; the posters could have easily been doctored. Toshiya mentioned something about their tv messages broadcasted online, however, he chose not to show them yet: Kaoru wondered why.
"....Well..." The dirty blonde was nervous because he hadn't presented all the evidence yet. The glares made him surrender, "all right but don't fight with Die again."
"He started it," Kaoru harumphed with immature grace, turning around and resting his back against the wall next to their Child Prey promo poster. What really bugged him was Kyo. In all the pictures he saw of him, none of them looked like the supposed Kyo from this morning. Sure, most of them had puffy blonde hair, and beneath all the makeup or lack there of, semblances of the guy's distinct facial features arose. But that man... Facial hair? Scruffy exterior with no sign of the refined Kyo underneath? This Marrow of a Bone, if Kaoru didn't know better he'd assume they hired a new vocalist.
The buzz from Toshiya's cellphone-and not Kaoru's which he thought belonged to the bassist-alerted of a text message. The semi dandelion blonde responded and placed it back in his pocket, smiling a bit from the positive update: Kyo had found the photo albums in Kaoru's room and in Toshiya's closet.
The correspondence confounded Dir en grey's leader. "That's...your phone?"
Toshiya turned to him, a bit startled. He took the device out again and stared at it, then at his lover. "Y-yeah. It's got a purikura of us in Akiba when we did that promotion, see?" He held it out for Kaoru, tiny sticker of both males cheek to cheek confirming Toshiya's story. It was a little faded so it had to be a few years old.
"Then who's am I holding?" Utterly at a loss for explanations, the brunette flipped open the phone. Before he could object any further, Toshiya snatched it out of his grasp, holding it firmly in both hands and practically cradling it against his chin.
With heart-broken eyes and emotion in his voice, "it's yours, Kaoru... I gave this model to you for a gag White Day gift because you got me that tiny ass box of chocolates for Valentines." Coincidentally Kaoru's phone was one of those 'Chocolate' phones. It was slightly outdated but the brunette kept it because it was from the adorable thirty year old, and it reminded him of those precious giggles as he opened it- or at least it used to remind him of Toshiya's giggles.

Toshiya gazed down at the no longer illuminated screen, staring at the background pic of the whole band backstage in L.A.; Noriko took it so Kaoru could be in the shot.
He spoke in a somber voice, eyes still glued to the screen, "...that night we got Shin-chan so drunk he didn't trust us for a week. But you made sure nothing happened. You're always like that..." Toshiya shut the device, unable to handle the rush of memories. Showing the photos....he wasn't sure if it was a good idea anymore. The baffled look on Kaoru's face did not help his confidence that a few dozen snapshots would snap the guitarist out of his highly unorthodox funk. More than likely it'd hurl Toshiya into depths of depression and hopelessness.
The tall bassist turned away and motioned Kaoru to follow, suggesting they return to the lobby where the others no doubt sat waiting.

Everyone joined around the typical couches and coffee table. The single light twinkled pleasantly on a dimmed setting-no real business today, just a brush up so the soothing light was appropriate. Most of the roadies and staff circulated around the couches-and bandmembers-sipping tea or eating the remainder of their snacks. They were clueless to the morning's mishaps and would remain that way; this was highly personal and if word leaked out, Dir en grey might face unwanted setbacks.
Die settled into a 'fist over mouth' pose inhaling deeply every now and then to harbor the waves of giggles threatening to reach tsunami height. He did not glance once in Kaoru's direction. Shinya (the only one still clueless out of the five) huddled next to Kyo, stroking Miyu and Yuyu in his lap. His short companion shot continuous glares across the table at his leader who, awestruck, fiddled through the chocolate phone's picture gallery. He couldn't understand why-after all the tumult this morning-Toshiya sidled by Kaoru, to him it appeared as if they fixed things but the look in Toshiya's eyes and subtle fidgeting fingers told otherwise.
After all the congratulations and necessary comments Toshiya requested only the five members stay for an extra word. The staff left and an expectant silence replaced their presence. Shinya was the only one gazing with perked interest as to why their leader had not spoken during the entire time, and why the bassist seemed to have taken over instead; this extra word must be an explanation.
Toshiya coughed, sitting up from his slacken position. Dark sienna orbs met three other sets, not even daring themselves to meet the pair of orbs right next to them. The voice that resounded was hesitant, but calm and clear, "we're in a bit of a rough patch here, guys..."
Mr. Giggles with the flaming red hair gnawed on his knuckle but that didn't suppress the snorted laugh. A vicious stare shot his way from Kaoru.
"We uh... It's a delicate situation and Diru might have to take a break-"
"Oh just get to it, I want outta here," Kyo interjected moodily. He had no inclination to pussyfoot around, especially since he still didn't approve of Kaoru's morning behavior.
"Kao's a soap opera heroine!!"
Shinya stopped fussing over Yuyu's perfect fur for a split second. Kyo's frown reached full scowl. Toshiya slapped his forehead, restraining himself from strangling Die.
"What!? It's true. There's been crying, drama, there's been laughter, we even got action! You don't get better scripted tv dramas than that."
The already standing Toshiya caught a projectialing magazine aimed at Die; narrowing eyes darted at his childish lover- his nerves rattled and these two shook them like indestructible toys. He burst into noise, snapping at the guitarist, "no! None of this has been amusing! Kaoru's had a meltdown and I'm about to spurt hot magma everywhere!!" Paper crinkling notified Toshiya that his strangle hold on the magazine echoed around all four or his bandmates, he quickly stashed it behind his back and out of sight. He inhaled a deep breath and continued on in a more dignified manner. "I mean... We're gonna face some setbacks because our never forgetful leader has done....h-has done just that."
The fire-burnt blonde gulped loudly, falling back into his seat where it supported his heavy and exhausted body. He couldn't take much more of this stuff- all the leader-like responsibility, all the mediating between the two brats and crabby vocalist, all the horrible truths tearing at his cheery, live life now nature.
He had his hands shielding his eyes so long he didn't realize the conversation moved on without him.
"We're all pretty tired... Its only taken until now for our resilient leader to show signs, I'm impressed. And besides, a few lapsed memories does not qualify him as out of commission."
"You're right Shin-chan, more like Leader-sama qualifies as seriously damaged, he needs to go back to the warehouse for repairs," Die expressed loud enough to bring Toshiya back from his worries.
"Look who's talking, car wrecker," Kaoru jeered back at him. He wasn't sure whether Die really did own a Mazda but he went with it anyway just to get a verbal punch at him- it seemed fair.
"That's it. I'm out of here. If you're gonna argue over something stupid I'm leaving." Kyo placed his palms on either side of him, hoisting himself out of the chair.
"No," Kaoru refused, "the Kyo I knew never left anything remotely resembling an interesting argument. You are no Kyo, imposter."
"Imposter...? Take a look at yourself, princess, this ain't no fairytale and you're no damsel in distress. I'm sick of the shit you've been doing to Toshiya and I'm sick of your bullshit excuses. You can fess up now like a real leader ought to do or you can snap out of whatever the fuck it is you're on cuz I'm not standing for it one more second." Dark glares rivaling any sinister super villain penetrated the low scale argument and cut it open for all the blood to spill loose. "Tell us when you decide to grow up." With that, the steamed vocalist left before Kaoru could truly gauge whether he was the real Kyo or not.
