I think it's AWESOME. Not only is it my first attempt at fondant--which I made myself, btw--it is my first attempt at carving a cake.

It is what it is because I asked my brother when he was half-asleep for a simple shape to carve. This is it.

Yep, three cakes. I decorated 2.25 of them, approximately. The "Welcome To" cake my mother decorated most of, after I iced it, and then had me add stems and leaves since I'm "better" at it. *eyeroll ( Read more... )

So I've been taking a cake decorating class. I've also been lazy, since I meant to blog this from the first class, and it's now the third. Of four.

On the other hand, it's the first cake we've actually decorated in class; up until now it's been practicing on waxed paper.
