I think you're definitely right about willpower - it's like telling on alcoholic they just need the willpower to not drink too much. It's just not that simple. We actually learned about principles of reinforcement in my psych 101 class last year and had to do a behavior modification experiment, so I'm familiar with some of the tecniques...really it's more of an initial, first shove toward doing those kinds of things I need, I think. Throwing the scale out would probably help, but I've done that once and ended up just buying another one, and I'd /really feel like an idiot if I went and bought a third one so I want to be absolutely, 100% committed before I trash this one. :P
Shit, Linddsay...that's what I started doing (the ritual of purging and weighing and rinsing and etc.). It scares me to hear you say that, puts a knot in my gut to remember how it was/could be. I know it can't change until you want it to, but know that it doesn't have to be this way.
Btw, I love the contrast of your first paragraph with that of your second paragraph about self-acceptance. (Sorry, that's a bit of biting sarcasm, but I say it with love)
Yeah that's kind of the problem, knowing it CAN be better but stubbornly refusing to take the action I need, somehow thinking I can keep clinging to this and be okay. :/

and oh yeah wanted to mention that you aren't the first person that's been confused by the username - definitely not dumb XD I have no idea why I even chose to do it, it's really pointless. I think when I originally got my journal I was not planning on actually journaling, just commenting so I guess I didn't care, but I think you have to pay to change it and I'm not up for that either, haha.
Ohai, I just remembered that someone else from the purg goes to GVSU, so I trekked into the archives out of curiosity. Uh... which FRE 101 are you in? It'll be pretty strange if it's the one I dropped.
And if you have Reichert for anatomy, she's pretty awesome.

I'm in french 102, actually, with Pruden. I have Adams for anatomy but I'm pretty sure Reichert was the lady that was our guest lecture one week. She was cool. And I'm in Chem 109 with Stevens. :)
