More Culinary Adventures
Today's accomplishments thus far: making delicious quiche! It is a mushroom and spinach quiche, with ten dollars worth of Gruyere in it. The Gruyere is so worth it, I'm glad I didn't wimp out and go for a cheaper cheese like Asiago. I did, however, wimp out and used pre-made pie crust. Still, it is quite delicious!
I'm waiting on some bread to rise, and then that will be added to the day's accomplishments. It is a bread recipe from Yuletide, because Yuletide is just the gift that keeps on giving. I'm keen to see how it turns out: it's a sweet cinnamon bread that should do well for breakfast.
A couple hours later: the bread seems to have come out well! It split, a bit, so the filling is showing: next time, I'll pinch the log closed more firmly. But it has a lovely crusty outside, and it's just sweet enough.
