I'm skipping school today and my mom approves of it. In fact, she was the one who suggested it. There's a signal no. 2 storm and classes from elementary to high school are suspended. I'm not sure how they thought up this system but I wished the Department of Education and the weather bureau would stop thinking that us college students are water-proof. We're not. We get wet, too.
Since I only have one class today, my mom told me to skip school instead. Actually, the reason why I only have one class is because a couple of my professors are under quarantine because of the A(H1N1) virus. There have been reported cases of students getting infected in our school and five of them were college students. One of them are in MY college (College of Education)!
And still, the school isn't doing anything. They won't suspend classes because they said they can't do that for EVERY reported case of A(H1N1). Okay, that's understandable. Personally, I wouldn't want them to suspend classes because we'd be making up for those missed days by cutting our break short. What I don't understand is why they don't install thermal scanners in the entrances or something. Heck, even old-fashioned thermometers would do!
I don't want to get sick because I don't want to bring the disease home. Plus, the school isn't the one who'll be paying for the hospital bills if I get sick.
Are we making a big deal out of this virus?
Yesterday, we weren't able to discuss ANYTHING in my Physical Sciences class because my classmates were busy bitching about the virus to our professor. Silly professor didn't figure out my classmates were probably just wasting time so that we won't be able to have the actual class. Or maybe the professor was feeling to lazy to teach so she allowed that to happen? Either way, I was sort of pissed off yesterday because that was the only class I bothered showing up to and I didn't get anything out of it.
Except maybe learn a new word. "make demanda" = sue. (It's the habit of college girls using the word "make" plus a Filipino verb.)
On to VAMPS!
I'm just curious: how are ticket sales for VAMPS now compared to when HYDE when he first had his solo concerts in the U.S.? There are more shows now so more tickets but I read that the HYDE concerts sold out within minutes. Is it the same?
PS. I'm not sure I like Johnny Depp's version of the Mad Hatter. I was kind of hoping he would give it the hyde-Theater-of-Kiss treatment.
PPS. OH SO NOW MY MOM WANTS ME TO COME TO SCHOOL BECAUSE IT'S NOT EVEN RAINING. *#)$@#&$! I WON'T BE ABLE TO CATCH MY ONLY CLASS AT THIS RATE. IT'S ALREADY 7:17A.M. MY SCHOOL IS 2 HOURS WORTH OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT AWAY. I HAVEN'T EVEN TAKEN A BATH YET. UGH.
