Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?
Oh Half Blood Price, let me count the ways.
I loathed HBP as a movie. It was probably my second favourite book but they absolutely ruined it as a movie. They spent 90% of the time making into a soupy teenage love fest and left out the most important bits. Horcruxes. Tom Riddle's past. Snape as DADA teacher (okay that's my shallow answer here, I desperately wanted to see Snape teaching DADA). The fight at the end of the book. Death eaters in Hogwarts doing something other than being Crazy Crazy Bella, look at how crazy she cackles!
They had the whole subplot of Draco and the Vanishing Cabinet but didn't ever expound on it. They had Fenrir Greyback skulking about in the shadows but didn't ever tell who he was! He was just henchmen #2.
I'm guessing they left out the Horcruxes because they'll expound on them in the 2 part Deathly Hallows. I don't know, I hope so. I don't really know how that'll happen since Harry mostly saw them through Dumbledore's penseive but I guess I'll find out.
And ugh. DO NOT get me started on Ginny tying Harry's shoelaces. MOVIE!GINNY, GROW A BACKBONE LIKE BOOK!GINNY HAS! Ugh.
