Thank you for the info! I checked around. Apparently NAOKO's original title is HIMITSU(Secret) and was once adapted to a movie starring Hirosue Ryoko with the same title^^

Malice's original title is "Akui", it is one of Kaga Kyoichiro series (currently acted by Abe Hiroshi in Shinzanmono). Seem like it will be released in April or May 2011?

I didn't like Himitsu's story that much. And I don't really dig stories with police detectives or physicians as the main character, episodic type of stories gets boring.

So far, my favorites are definitely Byakuyakou and Ryusei no Kizuna. The theme of the story is similar. I like this type of mystery stories, it doesn't focus on the detectives, but more or so, the "victims".... how they are living their simple life, yet so complicated. But Byakuyakou is definitely darker than Ryusei.

Is Lakeside's main character a police?

Looking forward to Yoake no Machi de (The City of Dawn) movie adaptation too, it focuses on a woman related to a murder case years ago. Rumors says Takenouchi Yutaka and Nakama Yukie will take the main roles. If its true, this would be Nakama's 2nd Higashino adaptation after g@me.

I wonder if that movie was subbed, I want to see it... I also like Hirosue Ryoko so I've got two good reasons to watch it ^^

I'm totally with you, I like stories where normal people have to cope with something... they are more on the psychological side and since I've got a degree in psychology I feel them more interesting than the detective ones ^^;

Lakeside's main character is a common man, the story is setted in a house on a lakeside where three family with children are gathered because the childen have to study in order to try ad admission exam for a certain school. But something happens and the mistery goes on... and the main character wants to unveil it.
There is a movie adaptation of this by Aoyama Shinji.
