I found a paper with evidence that marijuana causes physical addiction and creates withdrawal symptoms when taken away. Huh. If anyone is interested it's on pubmed.com. The authors are Milin Manion Dare and Walker.

It's a pilot study so it may not be entirely correct but it's a peer reviewed journal so they must have at least found a correlation between the two.

I get more of a punch in the face going without my coffee in the morning than I do without my weed (which is to say, I have no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever). Let's not even get into the fact that Sean was on opiates for his pain before he switched to medical marijuana, and do I need to mention how damaging those are? Give me a fucking break.

Were the opiates analogs or natural products?

Throwing this out there but we don't know if there aren't addictive substances in marijuana yet. It's still being studied but my major issue with it is that it's smoked, which is horrendous for you.

Over how long of a period of time and how rapidly does withdrawal take place? (Who funded it?)

How does it compare to withdrawal from other substances? Or is it too early to tell? You said it was a pilot study so I figure there's not tons of info yet.
