Today, we met up with our dear old AUSMAT mates, Chia Yee and Jia Yi! They still looks the same! XD
Had lunch then headed to the casino for a few rounds then we went back.
Been super busy these few days. We go to the library in the morning to study and come back at night. Sigh. Exams are coming! NOOOOOoooooo....
Of course before that, we enjoyed ourselves! On the 1st, we went to Philip Island! It's not really an island because we got there by bus alone.
We left the city at 1.30pm and started our journey! Our friends booked the chinese tour by Extragreen because it was cheaper... but I'm a BANANA (Read: Yellow outside, white inside ; a term often used to refer to Chinese who can't understand the Chinese language.) Therefore, I ha no idea what he was explaining throughout the tour, I could only guess what he meant from bits and pieces that I understood, which was fairly limited. >_>
Our first stop was a mini zoo in the middle of nowhere. Haha. The highlight of the visit was the albino kangaroo!
Cool huh? XD
Of course, the visit will never be complete without hand-feeding them.
The feeling of their warm tongue on the palms of our hands filled with dried grass. =D
Of course, there were other animals (who can forget the KOALA?), emus, dingoes and lots of donkeys. Heh.
We left about an hour later to our next destination.
The scenery was beautiful!
We arrived at a chocolate factory next! It's a pretty small factory, but the chocolates that they let us sample tasted GOOD. Bought 2 bars to bring home. XD
Chocolate heaven <3
And then after like... 20 minutes (!) we left again towards our next destination.
Nobbies Island. I call it the seagull paradise.
Please do not feed the seagulls!
Reason:
You will not have enough food anyway.
Yea that amount of seagulls, times a few hundred. 0_o Bird shit everywhere I tell ya.
But the view here is A.Ma.Zing.
We were there for about 30 minutes, and left again. Sigh, too little time!
Our last destination is the Penguin Parade!
The main attraction here is about a thousand humans will be sitting on a platform surrounded by bushes, facing the sea. About approximately 6.45pm everyday, that is the time the penguins will return from the sea! So here we are, a bunch of us staring at the sea, and finally around 7pm, the first group of about six penguins were spotted coming out from the sea.
Edit: After re-reading this post, I realised I overused the word "sea" in this paragraph lol.
We were so excited! They were on their way home to their nests in the bushes. The longer we waited, the more came out from the sea. Some walked to the bushes beneath our platform while some walked further up. As the sun already set by then, it was too dark to see the other penguins so we decided to head back up to the building. On the way up, we saw more penguins in groups walking towards the building! Their nests were probably pretty high up. Spectators and the penguins were separated by a fence, but we walked side by side uphill!
We were so close to the penguins! XD Like half a metre away.
SO CUTE! @_@
The bunch of us girls were even joking about how great it would be to capture one back home, or how slow one penguin would be compared to the others and how we cheered for the penguins left behind by the group. <3
Now, the downside of it all...
WE COULDN'T TAKE ANY PICTURES OF THAT. Pictures are not allowed in case the flash blinds them. ;_;
So, here are some fake ones!
So that's the end of our trip! For dinner, we treated ourselves to Korean barbeque in Chinatown. =D
Oh, and do remember...
You might run over some cute lil penguins.
And NEWS is gonna release another album~ So soon after Happy Birthday single. Sigh. There goes my money again. Or not. I might wait for the Hong Kong version instead. IF I can wait. ;_;
Now, I got to get back to studying! *cries*
PS. Australian Dollar depreciated! Hurray! =D
