DNAngel is finished, though I'm not happy with all the translations (手伝ってくれる、オミ?) You can find the link here:
http://hand-of-time.livejournal.com/5817.html#cutid1 I managed to meet another anime fan here (for some reason I thought there'd be more in Korea). The guy's only been here for a week, so today I took him to Seoul so he could get used to the subway. We wound up going to Jonggak station where I picked up ASUKA and a souvenir, and then off to Gyeongbok Palace. It started to rain and we got completely soaked, but it was still nice. I was surprised to realize I remembered a lot about the palace from when my parents were here and I was reading the guidebook, so I gave him a little tour, explaining what each building was used for.
Afterward, we went to Kyobo bookstore, which is pretty close to Jonggak Station and Gyeongbok Palace. I got DNAngel 14 (they didn't have it at the other bookstore) and looked at the ridiculously expensive books (30,000 krw for a paperback is ridiculous; I don't care how good the book is).
I found a Saiyuki Gaiden artbook at the first bookstore, YP, and was so tempted to get it, except for the fact that it cost 37,000. Sorry, Minekura-sensei, I don't love Saiyuki Gaiden THAT much. On the way out I dropped my metro card by the manga section and wound up in a small panic when I realized I didn't have it at the subway station. I wound up going through all my pockets and emptying my entire purse before giving up and going back to the bookstore. I went to the lady by the manga section, asked her if she had found a metro card and managed to get it back.
And this is what I love about Asia.
Had it been NA I might not have gotten my card back at all. But someone had found it and had been good enough to give it to the employee in case I came back. Granted, it might have been the employee herself who found the card, but I'd like to think the better. Still looking forward to going back to the US of A (sorta), though I'll definitely keep that as a fond moment of Korea. <3
