Zoo...Ubuntu...other things

I have been sorta MIA lately, which is sorta my fault, sorta not. Monday my father decided we were going to rip off the shingles on the roof so we could get it re-roofed. I woke up around 7 o'clock to help my aunt with VBS. Around 11:30 I headed over to the house. From 12 to 2 we worked on pulling shingles off the roof underneath the hot, hot sun. I was about ready to collapse come 2 o'clock. I felt horrible about it, but I guess I just have no stamina... I ended up going to bed at 9 o'clock and waking up at 7 o'clock the next morning, still exhausted and sore to boot. Fun times.

Tuesday night Michelle-chan came over and we started up a file for her in Tales of Vesperia. She's only ever seen the first hour or so, and we hoped to rectify that. Wednesday we headed off to the zoo with my uncle (will post pictures and videos when I get the time). Like Monday, the weather was hot, but it quickly turned into thunder storm! We left before it happened though. Regardless of that, we had a good time.

I am thinking of downgrading my Ubuntu from 9.04 back to 8.10. I originally upgraded because I was having some problems and I was hoping that would fix it, but it turns out that wasn't it. Unfortunately, 9.04 and my laptop don't agree. Firefox runs ridiculously sluggish, it freezes IM up when I'm loading pages, firefox sometimes scrolls through pages without my permission, and just generally the computer is not working properly. The only problem is that I don't know how to get the computer to run off of a disc. I tried F2, but that only took me to BIOS, which was no help. Urgh. I am gonna have to ask someone who has a DELL computer, I guess.

When it rains, it pours. This is true. In addition to Ubuntu being retarded, my Xbox controller is going kaput. It's been fading away forever, but it seems like it's on its last leg. I'm looking into getting a wired controller because I'm sick of dealing with batteries, but it kinda irks me that it had to kaput AFTER I finished playing Vesperia. If it had kaputed when I first started, I would have sucked it up and bought a new controller, but it's really hard to convince myself to buy a new controller after I beat the only game I want to play for the system. Guess I'll start calling around and seeing if Gamesotps have a used controller in stock...

Well, off to bed with me. Seeya!
