First of all!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Yeah ILU all. :D
For some reason, I decided that the best time to put together what random and sporadic gifts I do give was after a margarita and two shots of homemade Bailey's. I hope y'all like them. XD
First off is Jen's. I believe the shippy drabble is tradition at this point. |Db

His vassal had been acting weird all week - even weirder than usual. It had started with the singing. Not that that was anything new to her, but for once it sounded like she was actually trying to follow a tune instead of making up her own. For a few days, he thought he wanted to know the words to the songs, if only so she would quit with the humming. He got his wish - the first line of lyrics that he picked up, “tidings of comfort and joy,” left him sprawled on the ground for a good five minutes. Suddenly, the humming wasn’t so bad.
In fact, he could put up with the humming. He could even put up with the bright colors - a lot of red and green, which was weird since she usually loved pink - appearing in her room. He thought she knew better than to put them anywhere else.
This, however, was the last straw.
“Flonne! Oi, Flonne!”
It didn’t take long for the fallen angel to come running - after all, the throne room was central to the castle and pretty hard to miss. “Laharl-san? What is it?”
He wasted no time, pointing to the large evergreen next to his throne. The stupid tree had all manner of lights and tinsel and other annoying shiny things hanging off it. “What the hell is that?”
“Oh. It’s a Christmas tree!” As though that explained everything.
Of course, it did, but that didn’t mean Laharl had to like it. “Why the hell is it in my throne room?”
Evidently this answer required a bit more thought. “Because I thought it would brighten things up!” she answered happily. “You know, holiday cheer!”
That was the last thing he needed. He stared flatly at her for a moment before responding. “Get that stupid thing out of here, Flonne.”
“B-But Laharl-san!” He knew this argument was coming. “Can’t we leave it up for just a few more days? It’s almost Christmas! I’ll take it down after that!”
Yeah, he was prepared for the argument. Problem was, the damn puppy dog eyes got him every time. He stared at her, trying not to waver and failing. “Fine,” he finally surrendered, turning his back to her. “Keep your damn tree.”
He stumbled forward as she hit him from behind with the exuberant tackle that, for her, counted as a hug. “Thank you, Laharl-san! And look, there’s a present for you under it already!”
A what?
He was left to stare at her retreating form, then at the tree, and finally at the sole package that lay beneath it, wrapped in blue. A Christmas present. For him.
He was never going to understand her. Ever.

FOR EVERYONE ELSE:
You know you love it. :D
I may put up a Guess The Carol From the Random Line of Lyrics post later, because I love those, but for now I'm crashing out in prep for...eight hours from now, when we're all rolling out of bed. ILU all and have a fantastic whichever holiday you celebrate. ♥
