....Alright...this is probably the third time I've heard this, but...still...the fact that I heard it once disturbs me beyond belief.
What did I hear?
In not so much words: "OMG! WolfxRed is like AxelxRoxas X3"
Do these people actually READ what written anymore? At least when I make comparisons, I try to look for a basis for them. REAL, SOLID, UNCONTRADICTORY BASIS. Were I were character from Phoenix Wright, you can bet that I'll be screaming 'OBJECTION!' and presenting decisive evidence like WHOA.
I bet the only reason why anyone would say Wolf/Red is anything like AkuRoku is for the non-existent slash between the two prominent characters from KH2 and Re:CoM. =_= What. The. Hell. Fangirls. If you wanna make comparisons between characters and relationships, first look at the characters you are comparing them to.
I bet I can come up with their exact arguments, too. In fact, I think I'll have my fun and player 'lawyer' as seen in Phoenix Wright (as they aren't that much like real lawyers as my uncle likes to point out to me time and time again, but are good as a sort of plot device for when I wanna explain things).
Okay....for the side of 'ZOMG! Wolf/Red=AkuRoku 4 EVA!', they shall play the part of the super sparkly and usually shiny prosecution. (And in PW, they usually are very pretty--not counting Manfred and Payne, of course, as well as the other OLDER prosecutors.) Mainly because I believe that they are indicting Wolf/Red of being like AkuRoku, like a prosecutor is accusing someone of a crime and is trying to convict them of it. I shall play the defense attorney, considering they get to have all the 'fun' in finding contradictions. And, as the creator, it is my job to defend my babies...er...'client'. XD
Prosecution: Opening statement: Just look at them! They scream AkuRoku!
Defense: Objection! How? If you are basing things like looks alone, then there is not much in likeness.
Exhibit A: Hairstyles; Red and Wolf possess distinctly straight hair, whereas the duo of KH2 in question are in possession of unnaturaly spikey locks.
Exhibit B: Hair color; Red and Wolf have black and silver hair respectively. Roxas and Axel have blond and red hair.
Exhibit C: Eye Color; Roxas and Axel possess eyes colors in shades of blue; Red and Wolf have brown and yellow eyes.
Exhibit D: Clothing; With the exception of that opening sequence in KH2, both Roxas and Axel have the same fashion sense--black leather trenchcoats, knee high boots and gloves. Wolf, while wearing a trenchcoat, it is not ridiculously long and he does not wear boots that high--unless his mother tells him to. And we all know Red wears booties.
Prosecution: Objection! Exhibit D is a nul point for Red, because his color scheme is similar to Roxas' in Twilight Town.
Defense: Objection! You could say the same for a number of characters.
Prosecution: Please present ONE then.
Defense: ...........................................
Judge: Objection sustained on the color scheme. >_> Does the defense have anything else to add?
Defense: Yeah...the prosecution may have won the battle on color scheme, but in overall appearance. I won the war.

Prosecution: Next statement! Their attitudes are similar to Roxas and Axel's!
Defense: Objection! Their personalities are nothing alike!
Exhibit A: Roxas is a depressed, slightly glum Nobody born from Kairi's heart and Sora's body. While prone to anger like Red, he is brave whereas our intrepid baker is a known coward...not to mention an utter shallow bastard at times as well. While with an unhappy past, Red doesn't angst over it as Roxas might over his own past (or lack of a real one).
Prosecution: Objection! That's just conjecture by the Defense!
Defense: Well, while true that we COULD stretch Red's personality to fit Axel's, the same can NOT be said about Wolf and Axel.
Exhibit B: Axel is...well, it's hard to explain Axel. He's a lot like the flame he names himself after. He could be a hero one minute or a betrayer the next. While he considers Roxas a FRIEND, it is only FANON that they are in a relationship beyond friends or even acquaintances. And I doubt either Disney nor Squeenix would allow their characters to be openly homosexual onscreen. So, any interpretation beyond the truth as stated by the makers of the game and not found in the imaginings put into writing as seen in fanfiction, are moot. Axel is a Nobody, one that is a bit of a hothead, who acts cocky and has a most annoying catch phrase. He is sometimes known to connive and hide things, as seen by his performance in CoM and a few choice scenes in KH2. His loyalties are always put into question, as well, since he tried to KILL Roxas a few times (and managed to foil the plans of certain individuals in others). Unless evidence can be presented to prove otherwise, he is as he should be. Now WOLF on the other hand, does not share the same problem as Axel. He is openly affectionate (although said affections are usually taken the wrong way), loving and has no problem in telling Red that he loves him. Among other things, Wolf is VERY loyal to those he calls friends and has never once baskstabbed anyone, despite his rough background. But one VITAL difference between them is that Wolf was bisexual before becoming a 'one-man man', which is more than what can be said about Axel OR Roxas.
Prosecution: Next statement; What about their relationship? It's very similar to AkuRoku!
Defense: Objection! Prove it! Show me the evidence!
Prosecution: How about the scene where Axel says he'd miss Roxas if he left?
Defense: What the Hell does that prove?
Prosecution: That Axel obviously cares for Roxas.
Defense: That is true, however, that scene does NOT reveal anything similar to the relationship to Red and Wolf's.
Prosecution; But he cares!
Defense; Yes! The defense acknowledges that Axel cares for Roxas, but never clearly as what. It could be as a friend, as a brother--even as a lover, but without any solid, decisive evidence, there is no way to prove that.
Prosecution: Well, what about the scene with Sora and Axel when he dies! He says he makes him feel like he has a heart!
Defense; Objection! That's just Disney being sentimental! It does not prove anything!
