Episode 1: Christmas Eve's Miracle --- 2010.01.11

8/10

The much anticipated sequel has begun!
I always thought that a sequel would spend time introducing all the characters again, but it was not done for this drama.
Instead, we were shown each of their growth (some people may have grown too much...)
But, people who didn't watch the first season, and started off watching the second, would it be a bit difficult to understand?
Anyway, Kuroda-sensei has left the scene, and replacing him is Tachibana-sensei.
A man who doesn't reveal his true feelings and is difficult to get along with.
But he seems like someone who can calmly and objectively evaluate each of the fellows.
It seems like he has a past... and this past has something to do with Mitsui-sensei...
....Was he married to Mitsui-sensei?
What was that old, dusty Christmas tree??
What he said to Saijo-sensei makes me wonder too, what had happened?

Hiyama's condition came as a shock.
Because of the accident, there were residual effects to her heart.
And it didn't seem simple...
She is dedicated and hates to lose, I'm worried that she will overexert herself.
As always, Fujikawa is a character that relieves the tension, it seems that he is overconfident.
At this point, becoming overconfident after having a little experience, this is the most dangerous thing, right? (sweatdrop)
Shiraishi didn't really change (sweatdrop).. Her appearance didn't really change either (lol)
Haruka's lover is seriously ill, it feels like they are about to break up.
Are they going to live painfully together, knowing that there is no hope of a cure?

There are no miracles in saving lives, Aizawa said these sad words from the beginning.
I like you best with short black hair after all, Yamapi~
Aizawa's grandmother's condition worsened, and she was moved to the hospital....
Lily Franky-san who came out at the end, what is his role?
His Grandmother said "You killed him," as the anniversary of Aizawa's mother's death was approaching..
Could it have something to do with his mother's death? Could it be his father?! Maybe I'm thinking too straightforwardly (lol)

Dr Heli was used to save a little boy who fell into the freezing river.
In order to increase his body temperature, they performed surgery while putting him into hot water, warming his body from inside and out....
Ehhhh~? Is the hot water clean? Is that okay? My heart pounded as I watched.
Even though the heart was beating, his pupils were already dilated...
Maa, it's been over an hour, even if the heart can recover, the brain would suffer damage, right? (sweatdrop)
And then he entered a vegetative state.
"First preserve his life", the fellows that Kuroda taught all thought this way.
Gaining experience, learning the skills to save lives.
After, came the doubts and confusion about the saved life.
Seeing this, I felt that they really grew up.
Hiyama thought of how she was saved from the accident, and recommended sending the patient to a specialist.
So, the patient in front of her combined with her own experience, she probably wants to believe in miracles too...
Shiraishi wanted to let the mother and child spend Christmas together.... We saw her gentle side.
Aizawa saved the little boy from an almost 100% probability of death, because of this patient, he was able to believe in the next miracle.
Even though thinking like this is good, I still think..... It's better not to let the patient's mother expect too much (sweatdrop)
Fujikawa...... What did he do? (lol)

There are no miracles in saving lives, but there are doctors who believe in miracles. This drama is about such doctors.
"To save lives, you must be prepared to let go". Tachibana said this.
That's right, maybe sometimes it is necessary to give up, without knowing how to let go, a doctor won't be able to survive.
But, even so, doctors should still act while believing in something..
I think that patients would hope to have this kind of doctor.
But I have to say, the ending of this episode is a bit too idealistic.

Their fellowship will end in another 3 months.
At the end, how much will they have grown, what kind of paths will they take...?
I hope to watch over them every step of the way.
