Here is a detailed report on filming on the 25th. Pi was sick, but there were a bunch of cute little anecdotes I really liked too. XD
What I was most concerned about was the condition of his health, after all. He really wasn't very energetic.
Even though he was coughing in the morning, he still moved around somewhat during the breaks. By the afternoon, not only did he cough a lot more, his expression seemed pained too.
During the wait, he sat in the corner of the boxing ring with an ice pack to his head and the back of his neck. Maybe it was to shield himself from the brightness of the light, he had a towel over his head, and he used it every time there was a wait between scenes.
But, as soon as filming began, his expression and movements all changed, you couldn't tell he wasn't feeling well at all. The people sitting closest to the ring said, she felt his immense ability to concentrate.
Then, after a certain scene, during the wait, he sat curled up in the corner on the floor. My friend said that he seemed to have really fallen asleep. Then, it was Yamashita-san's turn to come out again. As he stood up, a young guy beside the ring told him, "Yamapi, ganbare!"
He said, "thank you", and that was probably the loudest thing I heard him say all day (because of the time I was there)
In the morning, I saw him and Kagawa-san and the actor who played Nishi, the three of them talking. When it was time to film a certain scene, Kagawa-san conversed with Yamashita-san, and my friend said that they were discussing which ad lib to use.
Kagawa-san gave advise for a lot of the scenes and helped to direct.
In the afternoon, during the wait, Yamashita-san found a bug in the boxing ring (probably a beetle). First he punched with his glove, hit it like "pang!", and followed with a "pa!". The bug stayed still on the ground, and we thought it was dead. Then it suddenly flew up again, Yamashita-san had an expression for an instant of being scared and wanting to run, then he tried to chase it still looking a bit afraid. Seeing this, everyone laughed out loud, and as if in response to everyone, Yamashita-san smiled too.
That was the greatest smile I saw while I was there. Then, the bug landed in the ring again, and he kicked at it three or four times, but gave up his attack when filming began again. Yamashita-san in the beetle incident, was extremely extremely cute.
The following is the impression of my friend who sat in the front close to the ring (a male Joe fan):
*Very toned body, but really thin
*To every single member of the staff, he spoke to all of them like, "doumo", and greeted them and nodded to them. When he spoke to people, other than the person he was speaking to, noone else could hear what he was saying. His hand gestures were small too. At first I was surprised by the mature feeling he gave, but that kind of unobtrusive manner unexpectedly left a good impression with me.
*His skin is like a woman's, extremely fine and smooth looking
*All in all, a sensitive and considerate person.
His hair seemed a bit brown under the light, but standing beside the ring it was pure black.
The length of his bangs were longer than Kenzou's, but there's a split in his bangs, and was not as heavy. Probably because most of the scenes showed his hair as being piecey, so it moved easily.
