Now..the long awaited next chapter.. or not XD

Yamapi walked aimlessly through his apartment, from the kitchen into the living room back to the bedroom and into the bathroom. He didn’t know what to do or where to go and everything just seemed stupid and annoyed him to his bones. He had taken the day off, and now it seemed as the most idiotic idea he had in a long time. Today was Tegoshi’s birthday but of course he wasn’t invited to any kind of celebration. Why would he invite me? It did make sense to him but yet he felt clearly upset about it. He took the day off but what for? Now he had even more time to think about it and get upset.

Great Tomohisa you always have the best ideas to make yourself miserable. He cursed at his stupidity and walked past the living room once more to get his car keys and a long black winter jacket. Leaving his apartment he had no clue where to go from here but soon found himself driving into Tegoshi’s house’s direction.

What am I doing? I am so gonna regret this….

[///]

Tegoshi walked past the kitchen and back into the living room, he kept staring at his mobile phone and back at the decorated table. It had been almost 20 minutes past the arranged time but nobody had shown up or even called to tell that they were going to be late. Tegoshi got worried and tried to call his friends now, dialing his best mate’s number first. No answer. That’s strange..

He tried his other friend, who then as well didn’t pick up either. Tegoshi left him a message to call him back. He started to really worry when he actually couldn’t reach any of his friends. Not knowing what to do he decided to simply wait around a little longer maybe it was all a big mistake and they were just stuck somewhere. Without..signal?...

A few moments later of twiddling thumbs his phone rang, he jumped up and got the call.

“Hey Yuya! I am sorry that I didn’t call earlier but I am at the hospital. Actually everyone is.”

“No way, what happened? Are you ok?”

“Well yes, kind of… I, we are sick.”

“Who are we?”

“The soccer team, literally everyone including coach Yamgucchi. It’s good that you didn’t show up the last two days you know, or else you would be sick on your birthday too.”

“Oh no, really? Everyone? That’s horrible! What happened do you know?”

“Well it’s just some kind of flu but it seems to be highly contagious so we literally passed it onto each other within the last day or so.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, man I hope you will get well soon! We need to play you know.”

“Haha sure sure we will be fine in no time but I am really sorry we can’t celebrate! Ah right, I almost forgot: happy birthday!”

“Thank you~ and don’t worry about it. I just want you all to get well, ne that’s important. So tell everyone I said hi and stuff you know..”

“Right right I will! Ne, then take care and have a nice party! Bye.”

“I will! bye!”

Yeah sure I will… not even my parents are home, now they decided to go on a weekend trip from Friday (today) till Monday… yay. Just my luck isn’t it…

He let himself fall onto the sofa, his soccer ball in his hands, crushing his head into a fluffy pillow. He hummed some tune and threw the ball into the air, to catch it again. He continued this for a while until someone called the front door.

“Yeeeees, I am coming!~” Who the hell could that possibly be, now that everyone invited is sick!?

He took his ball close to his chest and went to open the door.

Startled he looked at the familiar figure in front of him, almost unable to move.

“Err.. Yama..shita-kun? ..w-what..”

“Happy Birthday~~” Yamapi said cheerfully, putting on the cutest smile he could give Tegoshi right now.

“T-Thank…Thank you...” Tegoshi stammered, trying to understand what was going on. Yamapi was the least he’d expect to show up today and he still felt sorry for ruining his clothes and running away like that the other night. He felt so bad right now about what happened that he just wanted to disappear.

“Ne, are you having fun today?” Yamapi tried to at least have some kind of conversation; he didn’t drive all the way down here for nothing.

Oh gosh… now he even felt worse since he didn’t even invite Yamapi to his party. Well the party he had planned doesn’t matter that there wouldn’t be a party now.

“I .. erm.. well do you wanna come inside?”

“Nah, its fine I don’t want to interrupt your party you know …”

Tegoshi looked down in embarrassment and opened the door wider as he stepped back to make space for Yamapi to come inside.

“Please, come inside ...for a while.”

“Hm well ok ..I think I can spare another minute or two...” He didn’t want to come inside at all, even though he knew he wouldn’t want to celebrate with him and his friends he didn’t know why he had the urge to come by. Checking on him? He didn’t want to see his little happy friends so why would he want to pay him a visit in the first place? Yamapi cursed in his thoughts as he stepped inside the slightly lit room, decorated with party accessories and a table filled with snacks and drinks. But the seats were empty, no music was playing and well.. no guests were to be seen at all. Yamapi looked around the room and back at Tegoshi, who was still looking to the ground, his face slightly flushed.

“Where is everyone? Oh am I too early?”

But Tegoshi didn’t answer as he walked past Yamapi and into the kitchen. He couldn’t look Yamapi into the eyes for he felt too guilty about everything, more than ever. He knew he had been hurting him a lot but he didn’t expect it to go this far.

“Hey Tegoshi~ what’s the matter?” he kept on following the boy into the kitchen. Leaning against the wall he watched Tegoshi from behind, as was leaning over the sink and not showing any sign of reaction to his words. “Hey…are you alright?” he now could hear soft sobs coming from Tegoshi’s direction “You know I can just go I didn’t mean to interrupt anything I just...”

“They’re not coming, they caught the flu...” Oh gosh why am I saying that..Now I make myself look as if I am sad about being alone, I’m such an idiot...

”Oh I see.. Sorry to hear that. But you know if it’s illness than you can’t blame them for being unable to come. You can still invite them some other time.” Yamapi said harshly but didn’t mean to sound anything like what he must have sounds, for Tegoshi cringed at every single word he had said aloud.

“W-What …are you saying?” Tegoshi couldn’t stop his tears from coming and sobbed even louder and harder, which started to worry Yamapi now. He walked up to the crying boy, who still held his head above the sink in despair.

“Tegoshi? You are not alright, are you?” he carefully placed his hand on his shoulder. He wanted to embrace him into a hug so badly but knew it was inappropriate. He couldn’t bear to see him cry like this. “Hey.. They’re your friends. They will make it up to you. You will see…”

Tegoshi couldn’t take it any longer; he lifted his head and looked at Yamapi with teary eyes.

“F-Forget them…I’m not..sad about that stupid party..” more tears fell down his heated and flushed face. “..I..I’m so sorry..I’m sorry about everything..about not inviting you today about avoiding you..I’m sorry about your t-shirt but mostly about hurting you. I am really really sorry and I wish I could make everything undone. Everything I said.” Tegoshi covered his eyes with his hands since he couldn’t bear looking at Yamapi right now and his tears wouldn’t stop from falling down. That moment Yamapi realized how awfully stupid he had been and it had even been his fault that Tegoshi cried his eyes out and he didn’t even notice. How could I have been such a moron? He didn’t wait another second to finally wrap his arms around Tegoshi’s shaking body “It’s Ok, everything is fine. “ and gently pulled him into a tight embrace. “No…Y-you..should hate me..” Tegoshi mumbled into Yamapi’s chest. “Idiot. I could never hate you and you know that.” He replied softly, placing his hand at the back of Tegoshi’s head and gently patted him. “Now, please stop crying, will you? I don’t like to hear you cry and you know that too.”

After a few minutes of regaining his senses and stopping his bitter tears, Tegoshi lifted his head and looked at Yamapi, who still held him tightly. When their eyes met Yamapi carefully let go of him and turned around walking into the living room. He grabbed a handful of some potato chips that were spread out on the table and turned to see if Tegoshi was coming.

“Come on now, grab your shoes and socks, I mean coat.” He said jokingly.

“…W-What?” Tegoshi couldn’t really believe what he had just heard.

“Shoes and coat!”  Yamapi repeated firmly but with a smile on his face.

“Why…W-Where..I don’t understand..?” Tegoshi slowly came out of the kitchen and followed Yamapi into the living room.

“It’s really simple, you grab your clothes and I will take you somewhere.” Yamapi smiled brightly, hoping Tegoshi would too.

“No..No really I don’t want to go out and besides, “ he looked away ashamed with his face still flushed a bright red “you should be mad at me.”

Yamapi walked up to him and put down a pair of black boots, holding one of Tegoshi’s warm winter coat with a furry top wrapped around his arm.

“Here put these on and let’s go~”

“No seriously you should just leave me alone, I don’t feel well.” He hoped he would get himself out of this situation easily, because he could not imagine spending a day with Yamapi right now.

“Hell yeah that might have worked on your mom when you wanted to skip school for unknown reasons but don’t try that on me. I said everything is fine so just let me take you out today, I won’t leave you alone so you better come on your own accord.”

“Yamashita-kun, I don’t think it’s a good idea…”

“Don’t make me carry you into my car…I’ll count to three…one..”

“..o…k….ok..” Tegoshi replied with his face glued to the ground, while putting on his boots as he was told you, and throwing on his jacket when Yamapi handed it to him.

“Now that’s better, “ he smiled at the dressed boy “go get some gloves and a scarf it’s cold outside.”

Without any further objections Tegoshi did as he was told once more and grabbed a pair of black gloves and furry beige scarf as well as a matching hat from the drawer by the door.

[///]

Neither of them did say a word as they drove off in Yamapi’s car. Tegoshi wondered where they were going but didn’t dare to ask. He didn’t dare to talk to Yamapi at all, of course he had nothing to fear but the whole situation made him feel sad and confused as well as a little happy but mainly ashamed.

After a while Yamapi spoke up, “Ne for once can you try and not call me Yamashita-kun? You know you can call me whatever you want, really. And if it’s Yamashita-kun then I’ll have to accept it but you don’t need to feel like you have to address me so formally.”

Tegoshi looked at him bewildered and slightly nodded; Yamapi’s words caught him by surprise. He never thought he would bring up that topic at all and now it kinda put him into a difficult situation. Always had he wanted to call him just Pi, like everyone else does; sometimes it even slipped out of his mouth. Tegoshi though never did it on purpose; for one thing he felt too much respect for his sempai that he couldn’t bring himself to address him like that in public. It just felt weird. Secondly Yamapi never addressed him by his first name either, even after he had pointed it out various times when they were together. Now though, thinking it through it was just fair for he never addressed Yamapi in any other way even when they weren’t in public. And now he was in no situation where he could possibly ask Yamapi to call him by his first name. After all if it made Yamapi happy he would try and talk to him more casually from now onwards.

“What do you want to eat today?” Yamapi asked casually after watching the boy from the corner of his eye for a while.

“Erm ..I’m not really hungry thank you.” Tegoshi had been staring out the window the whole time but every now and then caught a glimpse of Yamapi.

“You’ll get hungry soon so why not take care of it now? I’ll treat you to anything you like.”

“Thank you but you don’t need to.” He tried to avoid going to diner with Yamapi today, but sensed he would fail this attempt anyways.

“But I want to. I will pick something if you don’t give me an answer now.”

Yamapi waited a minute but Tegoshi only mumbled something that sounded like “..not hungry…” and so Pi took out his mobile from his side pocket when they reached a traffic light and dialed number 2 on his speed dial.

“Hello, Yamashita calling, I’d like to order the usual but please make it double today…. Yes I will pick it up in 15 minutes…thank you.”

He looked at Tegoshi smiling widely “See I’ll take care of it.”

Tegoshi let his head bump against the window. I don’t think I will have any other choices today.

When they reached his favorite restaurant he told Tegoshi he’d be right back and said he could play any music he’d like and do whatever he feels like, except running away or he’d have to bear the consequences. He left with a wide grin on his face, though he kinda felt bad for frightening the poor boy but couldn’t resist.

Shortly Yamapi came back carrying two boxes with pasta to go, handing them Tegoshi once he got inside the car. “You like this pasta, right?”

Tegoshi nodded “Yeah…”

“See, then everything will be fine~”

[///]

Yamapi drove them up the hill he used to come a lot back in collage and even recently he had liked to spend some time there.

It was a very peaceful place with a lot of greenery, far from the busy city but close enough to have a very good view over the filled streets of Tokyo. Especially at night the view was incredible and always amazed him.

They passed many clearings and a few houses on their way to the top. Yamapi parked the car close to the abyss but not far from a quiet camping area with a lot of sheltered space to run around.

Pi walked up to Tegoshi once they had gotten out of the car.

“Do you like some wine? “

“Wine?” Tegoshi asked with wide eyes. It is way too early to drink and besides isn't he planning on driving back home?

“Yeah….” Pi opened the trunk and showed him all the bottles of wine he kept there. “Choose one!”

“Erm I dunno.. “ Tegoshi stared at almost 20 bottles of wine in amazement.

“Then… we take this one.. “ Yamapi picked out his favorite bottle and two plastic cups. “Sorry we don’t have glasses but they’ll do ne?”

Yamapi pressed one cup into Tegoshi’s hand while pouring a small amount of red wine into it. “Don’t worry we won’t get drunk, just have a little since it’s a really nice taste and goes well with the pasta.” He winked at the startled boy.

“Why do you…keep wine in your trunk?”

“These are my mom’s actually... I was planning on returning them to her but I always get too lazy to actually drive to her place” he laughed slightly.

Yamapi spread out a fluffy red blanket across the car’s engine cover and hopped onto it, motioning Tegoshi to follow him. When the younger boy did so, Yamapi handed him the pasta and picked up his own plus his cup filled with wine.

[///]

After they had finished their pasta in silent, Pi went to his car and came back with a soccer ball.

“Ne do you want to play soccer?”

“Soccer? I thought you hated soccer?”

“Well, yeah.” He laughed “Here catch!” he yelled out as he threw Tegoshi the ball.

Tegoshi caught it casually “Woah is that my spare soccer ball I used to..”

“..keep at my place, yeah.” Yamapi grinned at the boy.

Uhw I didn’t think he would actually keep that dirty old ball..Especially not inside beloved car, which he always kept super clean…

“Now stop daydreaming and throw the ball silly.”

“You don’t ‘throw’ a soccer ball, you kick it.” Tegoshi countered in a know-it-all-manner.

“Whatever.. Then kick the ball!” he replied impatiently.

“You know you suck at soccer …” Tegoshi said teasingly as he kicked the ball into Yamapi’s direction.

“I don’t !”

Pi hardly managed to kick the ball back to Tegoshi; it kind of flew into the opposite direction he had planned to …

“Yes you do!” Tegoshi ran after the ball and continued to tease Pi, kicking the ball back into his direction.

“No I don’t. I rock at all sports..” running after the ball, he gave it a hard boot forcing it back into Tegoshi’s direction, not missing as bad as before.

“Yeah sure, I remember differently. You might be good at basketball by now but you still suck at soccer.”  Tegoshi continued to run after the ball and kick it back, and so did Yamapi.

“I can’t suck at soccer!”

“Why not?”

“Because I am a natural talent! In everything..!”  Yamapi said jokingly as he ran after the ball once more. They both burst out in laughter, kicking the old ball aimlessly across the grass. They played, laughed, ran and fooled around for hours, until it got dark.

[///]

Totally exhausted they met back at the car. Tegoshi let himself fall onto the car’s engine cover panting as he slowly regained his breath. Yamapi threw the ball back into the car and grabbed another blanket before switching on some music, turning up the volume as loud as possible. He then hopped onto the car as well to join Tegoshi. Yamapi reached out to wrap the other blanket around Tegoshi’s smaller body to keep him warm.

“Here, “ he said smiling at the boy “You shouldn’t catch a cold.”

“T-Thank you, but what about you?” the boy replied worryingly.

“Ah I’m fine; it isn’t as cold as the past days, which is good.”

They kept on sitting there mainly in silent, listening to the music that came from the car’s inside. Yamapi had pointed out where he could see some stars from time to time and in what directions he could see the prettiest lights coming from the city at night.

Tegoshi watched Yamapi staring into the distance, a bright smile on his lips.

Although I love you, it seems like I don’t know how to approach you anymore. When I see your pure eyes, I am afraid. I’m scared the world will snatch you away under my very touch. I don’t want to hurt you ever again. Can I ask for that beautiful smile not to change?

“You know …” Tegoshi carefully began to speak “.. This is kinda weird.”

“Weird? What is weird?” Yamapi lifted his head in his direction.

“Everything. You and me, here.” Tegoshi slightly blushed, to reasons unknown since it wasn’t like the first time he had been alone with Yamapi, at all. Yamapi found that rather amusing.

“Hm..Good weird or bad weird?” Yamapi said with a cheeky grin on his face, scooting closer to Tegoshi.

“I..dunno..!?”  Tegoshi gave him an irritated look.

“Well then I think we should find out… I’ll pick you up tomorrow again.” Yamapi looked at Tegoshi with bright eyes, smiling reassuring.

“Tomorrow?..Er…But..”

“No but’s! I missed lunch today so I’ll make up for that tomorrow.” Tegoshi replied Pi’s smile with an equally bright one of his own before gently pulling part of his blanket around Yamapi’s shoulder. They lay there until both of them couldn’t bear the cold any longer, listening to music and enjoying each other’s closeness. Yamapi then drove Tegoshi back home before returning to his own apartment.

Whenever, wherever we were together we were so happy, it was our time. It doesn’t have to end here now, because I know we belong together. Let’s make this our time again.

[Chapter End.]

Now.. was that better?

Hope so! ^_^

.. Now you can tell me what you want to read..Should I end everything now?

>>> wrap it up in one last chapter?

Or should I write some more tegopi rabu ~ !?

Fluff or more drama again?

I dunno but I kinda like the characters that I somehow don’t really want to finish it off just yet ^^”
