OKAY SO I AM ALIVE, if you were wondering. i have thoroughly punched UniAssignments in the face and have remained victorious. and so it goes. this is what i have learned over the past couple of weeks:
1) lots of crap about the role of treasure as a symbol and structural device in Old English texts such as Beowulf and Sigurd. i hate you, Beowulf. WHY MUST YOU BE SO LONG.
2) just how not-racist Anglo-Australians really are towards Muslim Australians. turns out that our acculturation orientations lean more towards integrationism and individualism. so we are pretty badass with yo migrants, come on down. we're so laidback that we are perfectly happy to let you adopt our cultural values while keeping your own. we are also of the belief that people are individuals and whether or not you belong to a minority group shouldn't affect things like marriage and lifestyle choices. AUSTRALIA FTW
3) that a good test of intelligence incorporates non-intellect based trait determinants such as personality and interests. FUCK I HATED THIS ASSIGNMENT. women are more likely to score on a Social trait-complex which actually has a negative effect on knowledge, DID YOU KNOW? god fuck you Ackerman i never want to see your name again. intelligence in psychology blows.
4) my scifi class is the epitome of badass, this week we were talking about scifi anime and i had a presentation and rocked it hardxcore. yes, i am Awesome. with a capital. plz to be noting that down for future reference. the film for this week was Metropolis (2001) and i talked about issues re: identity and the 'Other' in the film and i brought in clips from Ghost in the Shell which made me a favourite haha. people are suckers for that film. (because it is just as Awesome as i am, obviously.)
5) i better get great marks in my coming exams because for some reason this semester i have scored MIGHTILY SHIT on most of my assessments. weird. i'm not very amused, nor very worried. lol apathy.
in other news it is unbelievably freaking cold today, top of 15C with chilling wind/rain. i have extremely painful cramps right now and my dad was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of days after his birthday. fun!
hmmm,
uni stuff,
boring sry
