So this isn't the first post I intended for my ultra-fantastic trip to Egypt, but it's certainly newsworthy.
Currently, I am sitting uncomfortably on lumpy, firm Egyptian pillows with a spasming back. This makes sense, as my bed shares the same characteristics as my pillows and I have not slept well. Usually, this situation would be very manageable, except our elevator button does not work on our floor (7th) and the stairs are too steep for me to climb down without causing shooting pains down my legs and up my spine.
Again, even this unfortunate set of circumstancesc could be worked around with relative ease, as no man is an island and my roommates are decent gents and ladies (2 guys, 1 girl, and one combination of them is a couple), ready to help me out in a jiff. However, yesterday afternoon I dropped my phone for the umpteenth time in its existence and it was in my relatively isolated circumstances that the lcd screen broke and melted its pixels into a black blob in the right bottom corner. So, while my phone pleasantly glows with its unhelpful iridescent whiteness, I find myself unable to call my roommates or successfully reach the AIESEC people (very nice, btw) who could help me find food and a Radioshack. I've managed to call someone I work with who has the number of Angie, an AIESECer who knows my "personal buddy" Heba, so that we can work out a mutual time to meet at said Radioshack. However, my phone also decided to give up reaching Egyptian numbers so I can't let anyone know that unless I throw myself off the roof of my building, I won't be leaving my room for a couple hours.
Goodness.
Did I mention my roommates took in a small, white Persian who finds it absolutely vital to its wellbeing to suck on my gym shorts while I wear them? Literally, it nuzzles up against my waistband and sucks away at the shiny material until the area is sufficiently damp or I throw the little furball across the room.
The end.
