Nintendo have
shown a revised DS - called the DSi, apparently - to a press conference in Tokyo. While the hardware seems to be looking OK, I'll miss that GBA slot. They don't discuss whether the Wi-fi has been updated or if it supports WPA, but I expect that it'll at least support 802.11g speed and WPA security (if not WPA2, like everyone else supports).
The diamond in the rough in that article was this:
The Wii wasn't left out of the show, however. Starting in Spring of 2009, you'll be able to put your games and content onto SD cards up to 2GB in size. This effectively solves the storage problem, and will hopefully open the door for downloadable content, a feature Wii owners of games like Rock Band have been clamoring for.
On one hand, this is great news! On the other hand, it's six months away, and I'm out of Wii system memory today.
