New Inspiron 6400!

I know during my last update I mentioned the fact that the video card in my Inspiron 8500 laptop had blown out again and that we talked to Dell about replacing the system since we've had about six problems since purchasing the system in the summer of 2003.  Well, it's taken a while (nearly three weeks), but yesterday (Thursday, May 10) my new system finally arrived!

This new system is an Inspiron 6400 laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 2.00 GHz (two processors at 2.00 GHz each).  It also comes with 1 GB of RAM, an 80 GB hard-drive, and a GeForce Go 7300 video card with 256 MB of VRAM.

This is great compared to my old system which had an Intel Pentium 4 Mobile processor at 2.40 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, a 40 GB hard-drive, and a GeForce video card with 64 MB of VRAM.

I have purchased two sticks of 1.00 GB of RAM each so that I can bring the system's RAM up to 2.00 GB (right now it is configured as two sticks of 512 MB each) and I will sell the 512 MB sticks on eBay or something like that.

I spent yesterday, and this morning, installing all of the necessary programs on the system and transferring all of my old files, e-mail addresses, and documents over from my old hard-drive backup.

Anyway, I'm very happy and I'm planning on extending my Dell Warranty!
