Poll Some other quick thoughts:
"Glee": (1) I love Coach Bieste. Did you know the actress is a 15-time national arm-wrestling champion? It's not difficult to believe, is it? (2) Quote of the night: "Two of them began to worship an opossum carcass as their lord."
"Modern Family": (1) While all the storylines were really strong, I thought Mitchell in the princess castle was not only the funniest moment of the week but maybe the funniest moment ever. (2) Quote of the night, Jay, re: building bookshelves with accident-prone, defensive Mitchell: "That was my Vietnam. And I was in Vietnam."
"Undercovers": This started slower than I would've wanted; I liked it, but I didn't love it. Essentially, it was just a little too frothy for something not fundamentally a comedy -- I either wanted more dangerous spyjinks or a slightly different relationship dynamic. I think Samantha and Steven being more estranged might have worked better, so we would really feel them coming together; as it was, we were expected to believe these two people had not had sex in a while for no real reason. I'm sorry, but if you were married to Boris Kodjoe or Gugu Mbawtha-Raw, you would be having sex with that person at every opportunity, and I am counting stopping the car at traffic lights as an opportunity.
That said -- they're gorgeous. They have charisma. The supporting characters were both hilarious; Gerald McRaney is in that stage of TV stardom where there is no line so small and ordinary that he can't turn it into a knockout punch. And there are hints that they can build on this, such as the fact that the Blooms don't know the real reason for their recruitment, or that neither of them has shared their spy past with the other, meaning any number of secrets might come tripping forth. I'm definitely on board for now.
As for "Fringe," I am still flailing from the awesome. Frolic with me in comments!
