Day 20 - Favorite kiss

I have chosen the same kiss that the uncertaindianora2 did, though I note she said she had to really puzzle over this one for a while. For me, this was the first answer on the meme I immediately knew, no question, no contest. I guess now we know who loved "Moonlighting" more ...

For context: David and Maddie were the first TV ship I was truly crazy about. I mean, I loved Remington and Laura, but they settled into their weird "we're dating/we're not dating/we're making out an awful lot/and yet we are not having sex besides being adults clearly not opposed to premarital sex and also imbued with unearthly hotness" thing by about the third episode. But "Moonlighting" knew how to work the UST, and at this point in the show, it seemed entirely possible Dave and Maddie might flirt and bicker forever, with no resolution. Also, this was pre-internet age, which meant spoilers were few and hard to come by. (Was it not you, the determined tzikeh, who in junior high somehow tracked down the person who did layout for TV Guide and made them tell you the blurbs for episodes a few weeks in advance? That's called old-school. None of this Ausiello or Kristin crap! If you wanted a spoiler, you had to go GET it. Uphill in the snow! Both ways!) Also, the setup of this episode is hilariously melodramatic to me now, but it was well-acted (particularly by Bruce Willis, who still had hair and the desire to actually emote instead of smirk) and looked better in an era when most TV drama characters basically solved a crime a week and had as little off-the-job/inner lives as possible.

Anyway, so I'm pretty young, and I hugely adore this couple, and I have no idea that they will ever kiss, and then "Witness for the Execution" airs, with this --

Good times, y'all.

Other awesome kisses: Tim and Dawn in the UK "Office" Xmas special; Justin and Austin's first kiss on "Ugly Betty"; Sydney and Vaughn's first kiss, "Alias"; Greg kissing Jenny after interrupting her wedding (boo, Tony! boo!) on "All My Children"; Jack and Fauxrina's "Alias" pre-assassination kissing; that amazing clinch for Don and Betty while they were role-playing in Italy on "Mad Men"; and (shame on me!) David's kiss with that ex-girlfriend of his played by Dana Delaney on some other episode of "Moonlighting" -- they were standing in the headlights of her (parked) car, while the radio played the Isley Brothers, and true Dave/Maddie shipper that I was, that kiss was just hot.

Still feeling most grubby. The doctor says it may just be the antibiotic, which is tough on the system, but I guess tomorrow we'll know if I am finally mending or whether I have to go back for more.
