the good and the bad

The good: I have established internet in my new apartment!

The bad: Establishing cable, even on a part-time basis, is going to require my going out and Buying More Things, of which I am tired.

The good: I have made still more significant progress on unpacking!

The bad: I feel all kinds of terrible today -- I suspect tummy trouble has combined with exhaustion to make me feel like I've been run over by a steamroller. So I am taking it slow and suspect I won't come close to actually getting done.

The good: Resting means I can watch at least a few of my shows tonight!

The bad: I have to stumble down the road to Best Buy if I intend to do this. Oy. Afterwards, a quick nap.

ETA: So, after going to Best Buy, getting what I needed, getting back, not being able to find batteries, going out for THOSE, and then messing with the new remote for seriously about an hour, I can't program it to reset the TV's channels, which means I can't see Bones or Fringe or TVD tonight at all. This is not what you'd really call a problem -- I can get them on iTunes or whatever tomorrow -- but I'm tired and sick and PMSing and just miserable, and there will be no TV respite from it tonight. Phooey.

AETA: We end on a good! After being all whiny, I got pissed off, which is always more productive. This involved (a) pulling out an old universal remote I found while unpacking, (b) having to go through, I am not kidding, about 50 pages of the company's web site because the model number was not printed on the device anywhere and so I had to ID it visually and (c) trying about 30 codes on the remote before it worked. BUT IT DOES.

I am still tired and sick and PMSing and somewhat miserable, but tonight at least I will unwind, and go to bed early, and perhaps be able to finish packing tomorrow. Yay!
